I was curious if anyone has ever seen any effects done with Chess pieces?

Came across some sponge chess pieces on Eddie's site.

The Knight's tour is the mathematical problem of placing a knight on any square of the chess board and in 63 moves having it land on each of the other squares exactly once.

A mentalism presentation is in Corinda.
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats

My friend "Latko" had an interesting close-up routine with a chess theme, in which he placed at the 2009 FISM. Here's the link:

In the movie Stalag 17 there was a chess piece used by the German guards to pass messages with their informant in the prisoners barracks. The top of the piece came off and the messages rolled up and placed inside. I thought this was an interesting idea. I wish I could find one.

Best I can tell you look up Checkers on Scarne, there is a nice close up routine using black and red ones.

"Checkmate" by Alan Warner is a neat mental item in which a spectator freely selects one of three differently-colored chess pieces (no force) and the magician's prediction is immediately shown correct in a very convincing way.

At the time of this posting, in the year of our Lord… Smile

If you check RIGHT NOW, they happen to have one for sale on eBay… Smile

Just key in, "Checkmate by Alan Warner"

It's a great trick and a wonderfully crafted effect. Smile

I love chess! Add me on chess.com if you want to play. My username is MmmTastyCorn.

I had an idea to do a two in the hand one in the pocket routine with pawns and having a King appear in your hand as the kicker. I've never tried it out but the idea is here if you want to use it.

That sounds like something that I could use very well. Forgive my ignorance: Where do I find "Eddie's site"?
