I searched for reviews on this, but didn't see anything other than a few comments in another forum. So I though it would be best to start it here.
Ad Copy: About fifty years ago Steve Dusheck invented the effect "Dollar Punch" and sold it with great success. Unfortunately the trick was discontinued many years ago. Now you have the chance to get your hands on the next generation Dollar Punch, the DP II! The magician introduces a mini paper punch and allows the spectator to punch a hole into a piece of paper. A Dollar bill is folded several times so that the puncher can punch 8 holes into the bill simultaneously. The bill is unfolded and the spectator can clearly see the holes. The magician folds the bill again and reverses the punching process! When the Dollar bill is unfolded, the holes vanished, the bill is unharmed. A baffling effect! Very visual! Instant reset! Don't leave the house without it! Puncher comes in silver. http://www.card-shark.de/index.cfm?page=......rtID=265 Looks to be a fun effect, easy to carry and being that it is from Card-Shark, it will be excellent quality. *** And Christian donates 5% to a charity listed of your choice until December 20th! That's VERY cool!!! Anyone have this and want to share their thoughts? Thanks and have a great day Mike |

This is one of Steve's favorite and signature effects. I must say, I did like that it seemed to click audibly at the right moment.
This is very small (as was Steve's original). Its a great trick, but made even better when you use the "punched out" circles - placing them on the bill, folding it, and restoring it. This is on Steve's famous lecture DVD, so it is great to get Steve's teaching there, but has always been difficult to find a pocket-sized, single hole punch. I hope this fills the bill.

I assume to use a borrowed bill a s****h will be needed. It does look good though.

Where in the ad copy does it say borrowed bill? Exactly.
Not putting down the product, but please don't imply claims where there aren't any. |

Knowing that spec's may suspect a switch, Steve's original teaching had a very nice touch that addresses the possibility of a spec thinking that the bill was switched. I don't know if this is covered in this new releaase.

Looks to me it could be the same way "two dollar window" is done- but with holes punched in it.

The punch looks very cheap, could you use a different one ?
By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.

I have also an original, and while it was sturdy, it was nothing to write home about - ya know, just a punch. Everyone's mileage will vary here, of course.

I doubt there are many who have regretted buying this. I hope all of Steve's original teachings on it will be included (makes it even cooler than the demo).

Is this along the same lines as "two dollar window"?

Hello to everyone!
The effect is very cute and attractive! I don't have it but some of you just figured it out. 1) yes is like "two dollar window" trick were two ones become a two dollar bill or similar the effect where a rectangular card paper becomes a bill 2) to George1953: you cannot use any punch, the illusion is given also by a punch which is the SAME from "above" and from "the bottom"...I think also thet the punch is a gimmick thet cannot punch anything and that the initial punching on a blank paper is a false, but I'm not sure Flavio |

I was just curious why a dot falls to the table when he punches the paper, but none fall when he punches the bill. Is that a bonus effect?

As you unfold the bill, the pieces can definitely fall out.

Chessman, when you said flaviorromano was not right- was the "two dollar window" part correct?
