That's great! Now Hocus-Pocus's prices are close to Penguin's normal prices! Oh wait, but then there's the shipping, which is free at Penguin with an over $50 order.

True that Hocus-Pocus offers some items that are not found at Penguin, but usually they're not discountable.

That's very generous, though unfortunately the two items I was interested in didn't qualify for this promotion.. oh well.

To address the post above by Maxfields Magic. We will honor or meet any competetors prices, shipping or other offers any time. We have always done this no questions asked. I feel that a 33% discount is very generous offer but we are here to serve you in the best possible way. Those of you who have shopped here know how easy we are to work with. So please contact us for assistance, price match etc.

Regarding non discount items. This is a situation that we have no control over unfortunately. There are certain mfg. suppliers and creators who insist on a no discount policy. This is strongly inforced by them and we cannot break this agreement. I am sure as you shop online with other magic suppliers you will see the same items advertised with the no discount policy as well.

I do hope that this sheds some light on the situation and answers any questions that you might have regarding this event.

Like many of us, I've have dealt with Paul and Penguin ... and others too. Paul has always gone above and beyond to help. Thanks for doing this.

Just wanted to through in my support on the issue. I shop the differant Magic suppliers on-line and occasionally order from them, but 9 times out of ten I return to Hocus-Pocus for thier great service and attention to my needs. I have been able to pick up a ton of good effects through Paul's numerous discounts and specials. I will say that I have been a customer with Hocus-Pocus for nearly 20 years and don't see a need to change.

Th book I bought at Hocus Pocus was $59 for members and $65 for non-members. Penguin had it for $65 and no discount. I got the book for $49 including shipping with the special offer. I've shopped at both Hocus-Pocus and Penguin. I find myself using Hocus-Pocus more than any dealer out there. Thanks, Paul!

What a classy response by Paul. We all know that many of the dealers are great -- you might even choose them as a friend if you ever met them. For some purchasers it will always be the "what" they are getting and the price point -- for others, the "who" they deal with will also have value. There are some people that you just trust. At the end of the day, guys like Paul can easily look at themselves in the mirror and know that their integrity is intact. I don't remember purchasing anything from Hocus-Pocus, but I now know that I will.
