I recently bought this neat-o old prop from a fellow Café member.
Mine is Orange, but is otherwise the same. It came with one page of instructions. The problem? the instructions reference a sketch that I guess originally came with the instruction page - perhaps on the back? One of these days someone is going to have to compile a book of UF Grant instructions like they did for Thayer and P&L. I realize the "sketch" is not really necessary, but if someone has a more complete set of instructions than I do, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance. Alan |

Thanks Michael.
I bought the PDF from Magictrickcollection before I came here and it was also only the first page with no "sketch" - the same as the one page sheet I received from the seller. I haven't tried Ronsmagicplace yet but I was hoping that one of the kind folks here on the Café would help me avoid having to pay (yet again) for a complete set of instructions. Alan |

I own several hundred Grant Prop Instructions...I'll check tonight for you...but offhand, I don't recall any illustrations for the Potato Box.
(A well-deserved book on UF Grant & his magic has been discussed between myself, Jim King, Sr, and a major Magic book publisher...but there are no immediate plans for such) |

Potato Box and Orange Box: Originally sold as two separate tricks, both of these U.F. Grant inventions were pretty much the same box with different holes and a different plot. Learn more in Mini-Mysteries Book 3 at The Magic Nook.

Just to comment... I use a dinner roll instead of potato or orange. It's a lot less juicy.

I like proppy props.
I'm not sure why there is such hate against things made to look interesting and mystical. Personally, I tire of street magic.. |

I agree, Binky, and I think audiences like them too.

General Grant once told me (paraphrase) "If you're a pro and you think you might like it, buy one, it's cheap. If you like it,, then build a stage size one out of good wood. I don't know why no one ever does that."

I have one of these. I bought it from a fellow magician years ago. I never used it as the only instructions did not explain the routine well. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could send me clear instructions. Thanks in advance.
