I do, thanks. I appreciate your flexibility.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

("Some scholars say that it was coined by early settlers in reference to the skin tone of Native Americans, while others say it referred to the color of the body paint used by certain tribes.") In the case of the Washington Redskins, the name was possibly selected "in recognition of the then-head coach William Henry "Lone Star" Dietz, who claimed to be part Sioux" (and because some team players at the time were Native American). If this is true, the name Redskins was used because some Native Americans were associated with the team. And so it comes back to what Redskins meant in the context of describing Native Americans at the time, and it seems scholarly opinion is divided on that point. BTW, the Washington Redskins episode of South Park tonight was very entertaining. It riffed off on Kickstarter, the Redskins, ISIS, NFL wife beatings, Catholic clergy. Something for everyone!

I graduated from High School where the school football team was called the Wyoming Redskins. Guess what. Our Thanksgiving day rivals were the West Wyoming Cowboys. How more politically incorrect can you get? Good thing there were not a bunch of_______ (fill in the blank) back then.
