I purchased some battery operated reels with silks online. The silk looks like it can really fly. My problem is that they came with no instructions, and I want to perform the effect where the silk flies away from me before returning to my hand. Does anyone know how this is done -without it flying around a microphone stand or some object-...or is that the solution?

Welcome to the Café, canadianmagicfella!
Are you talking about The Power Reel from John Kennedy? http://www.johnkennedymagic.com/scripts/......oduct=82 This is the one I have. And we cannot discuss methods in an open forum.

I imagine that mine are the same thing...just
sold and made elsewhere. |

Pretty easy to use. Mine came with 85 feet of monofilament. A white silk can fly quite a ways. I strung mine around umbrella poles on tables at an outdoor restaurant/bar. You can do chair legs if they are round.

Cool. Have you any idea about where to purchase/ what to use for replacement thread? I need some more and I'm not sure where to get it. Perhaps black fishing line?
