You may find my iPhone and Android app, Stack Trainer, useful as a practical tool to practice stack skills:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/stack-tr......442?mt=8 https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=yeahgic The app is straightforward and serves as a virtual spectator who whispers you cards both visually or acoustically. You can then route for the next card in the stack, the next suite of the same kind or the next value of the same kind. The app aims at increasing your aguility on the memorized sequence. Look and feel of the app can be checked out using the free Random Input app. Here is the link to Random Input and related apps: http://yeahgic.com/pge_midlets.htm |

Has anybody tried this out?
It looks OK but with a high price tag (I know its not really highly priced ... but other alternatives are out there at a lower price and I am being made redundant as of August 31st 2015 so no spare cash!) All the best Dave |

Does the 'mnemonic' aspect of this allow you to input your own memory pegs, or does it only show pre-set ones?

I got a cheaper alternative and found that using that and combing using a real pack of cards and focusing on a set of 5 a day really helped its taken me about 3 weeks (im not very good at doing it every day) and I almost have the Mnemonica stack sorted. |

Feature suggestion: Ability to input your own stack.

Three user-defined stacks can be added.
Three user-defined peg systems (a pair of 52 peg words, eg. suit, sun, ..., drink, and 52 peg numbers, eg. tie, Noah, ..., lion) can be added. |

The Appstore price has been reduced for the next two weeks. See here:
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/stack-tr......442?mt=8 The same applies to the related Acaan Trainer and Symbolic Method apps. |

Harry Lorayne‘s peg words for the cards (eg. suit, sun, sum, etc.) and numbers (tie, Noah, ma, etc.) are supported by default. In addition, users can add their own individual peg set. Pegs are a powerful aid when learning a stack.

The actual version supports these modes: Next Card, Next Suit, Four of a Kind, Get Card, and Get Position.

Learning by sound is a key requirement for this kind of challenge. Sound files for the Stack Trainer can be recorded with its satellite app https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/random-s......=en&mt=8

The image shows the locations of the four queens in a stack. Their absolute position and the up- and downward distance to their next mate are indicated, all this resulting from a simple tap on one of them. All four-of-a-kinds can be highlighted just like that. Or all colours, i.e. all spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds. This is just one of the many features that helped magicians all over the world to master memorized decks by using Stack Trainer.
