My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

I trust that you're aware that William Shakespeare's plays weren't written by him, but by someone else with the same name.

Since many expressed dismay that Vinsmagic's thread on quotes got derailed, I thought perhaps we could start anew.

From the author on Vinny's original post...

'As has often been said,” by JFK 's headmaster, “the youth who loves his Alma Mater will always ask not what can she do for me?" but "what can I do for her?"'
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

You should buy a field. Then go out and stand in it.
When someone asks, you can say;
I'm outstanding in my field.

I'm a big fan of the writings of Marcus Aurelius and that is one of my favorite quotes. It is demonstrably true.

Was not this thread supposed to be about 'inspiring quotes';). Respectfully Jonathan, how does an analogy to mundane modern 'economics' [ and just includes the word 'internal'] fit the bill?...especially for an 'organic' quote by a great philosopher that was made nearly two thousand years ago.....unless it was just an attempt at clever humor.....but I did not see a Smile....so maybe I just missed the point.....which I sometimes do.Smile

Here is another meaningful Marcus Aurelius quote that 'may' be 'inspiring' to some:

"Do not indulge in dreams of having what you have not, but reckon up the chief of the blessings you do possess, and then thankfully remember how you would crave for them if they were not yours."

Happy trails.
