I wouldn't say 'lost to the study of science', but I am certainly happy, too, that he has chosen magic as his creative outlet. However, I did hear from other friends of his that Lubor did create and invent in other fields outside of magic. But I don't know anything beyond that. Perhaps he stayed active as chemist and did innovate there as well?

My memory of Lubor Fiedler was from a lecture he gave at Magic Live a few years ago, he talked about his creation of a vanishing brief case that used a fascinating method. It was quite ingenious. His creativity and thinking was inspirational.

I have a video of Lubor performing his vanishing brief case. I am working on a collection of historical Lubor Fiedler videos where this will be part of it.

To celebrate Lubor's magical legacy, how about creating a list in this thread of many of the fine effects he created?

I'll start.

Gozinta Boxes (Inner Outer Boxes) revamped as Lubor's Gift.

Anyone else care to add to the list?

That's a great list, Chris. What a creator! Smile

Would you have a link to Incredi-Change? I think I remember that one?

Just came across these Lubor Fiedler patents.

Interesting stuff!

http://patents.justia.com/inventor/lubor-fiedler

It looks like Lubor was originally thinking of using his 'Lubors Lens' as a stage illusion.

Don't think so. Just two videos that Lubor himself posted on YouTube. "Inside Lubor Fiedler's Brain."
