Even if we tried for quite a while to create another 'jack of all trades device' we found that our efforts always ended up in one of two results:
  • either the final wallet wasn't better than any of the other 'jack of all trades devices' on the market - and from our personal point of view not being better but just different doesn't justify the existence of a product;
  • or the wallet could manage plenty of different things indeed - but none of which individually was as good as our prototypes for one particular utilization were.

Finally we dicided to produce the wallet in a way that the particular utilization that we intended first and foremost works as good as possible without any restictions that could be caused by further usage options if you know what I mean.

So what we have is a wallet that allows you to find out a secret piece of information in the most natural and unsuspicious way imaginable (from our point of view).

As I said: we always thought that it is strange to safeguard a drawing or writing that a participant secretely created of all things in OUR wallet. Would we (as participants) appreciate something like this?
We know that many performers work like this all the time an feel comfortable with this - but we never appreciated such a handling in our own performances. So we created a wallet that avoids this necessity completely - but allows us to get our informations guaranteed nevertheless.

That said, we are currently working on adding another option the wallet; but honestly, this V2 won't be as perfect as needed at any time soon. And if we are not completely satisfied with the result we wouldn't use and offer it anyway, ... Smile

I think that statement's causing the confusion, and why we're asking about different features. So, all 3 are basically just different ways of getting an i**r*ssion?

I think I discovered the issue some may have with the password. If you click the link, it might take you to the German language page. Once I clicked on the English language page, then the 'second' requested password works just fine.

This wallet has me intrigued.

Yes, actually that's it.

We realized that even Rainer and me have different preferences regarding the handling.
This just as an example: While Rainer eventually offers an envelope to a participant (to secure his writing or drawing), I personally don't do this regularly. Or while I every now and then use a business card to write or draw on, Rainer doesn't prefer this.

You may like to use a small pad to write or draw on, or a business card or a PostIt note - up to you.
You may like to handle the wallet in one way or another - up to you.

After all it's all about getting to know a piece of secret information in the most natural way; whereby "most natural" actually means "most natural for YOU personally"!
So you are not committed to use one particular 'writing medium' and you are not committed to work with one particular handling.
The ParaNormal wallet offers various 'writing mediums' and various handling options each of which to achieve technically the same: getting to know a piece of secret information in the most natural (read "normal") way. Smile

As I said: this wallet is NOT a jack of all trades device. Smile

Actually there IS a small pen included anyway which is hosted in a small holder in the middle 'fold' of the wallet.
Maybe you can see it on those fotos:

You have to consider the track record of the producers when you're thinking about purchasing this wallet. Also -- you need to keep in mind that it's not a p**k in the conventional sense. BUT, from what I understand, it offers a number of different ways to get imp*******s.

I use im*****ions a lot in what I do. And when I get them, I use one of the four ParaP*ds that I own.

So put those two things together -- the painstaking attention to detail and brilliant design of the PP and consider that these guys have now issued a wallet that can be used everyday and will enable you to gather imps wherever you are...and what conclusion can you reach?

I owned an Assassin for years and used it in a performance exactly twice -- because I could never get my mind around WHY they are putting their impressions into my wallet. Despite having read dozens of rationales for this, it still didn't make sense -- so I didn't use it for anything except a wallet.

Enter the brilliant ORIGINAL Thought Tran*miitter by John C. I loved that thing because whatever they drew/wrote stayed IN the wallet they initially used -- which, to me, was a vast improvement over "okay...now for no apparent reason, I'm going to ask you to take what you just drew and put it into my ABSOLUTELY ORDINARY WALLET between these two credit cards so that there's NO WAY I can see what you wrote."

I just bulled my way past the question as to why the Post it Note was in the Thought Trans*itter in the first place.

But it's perfectly reasonable that you use a post it note from your own wallet. I think the concept is brilliant! As far as I can conclude, without actually examining the thing, it answers every weakness I've seen about the standard pee* wallets, puts a whole "impromptu" act in my pocket and blends all that with the expectation of the same flawless operation I've gotten from my ParaP*ds.

The bottom line: now I can get ParaLabs quality imps -- the no doubt about it BEST imps anywhere -- in a wallet I use every day?

I thought about it for about twelve seconds before I placed my order.

True -- it's expensive and unless you really appreciate the power and the vast number of performance options one little imp can provide, chances are this isn't the right item for you. But you DO get what you pay for in this business and with ParaLabs you know it's going to be top of the line work, craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Add the shining endorsements from performers like Osterlind, Cassidy, Looch and many others? I'm looking forward to getting this and working with it.

The title of this thread should probably be editted if we want it to stay in penny.

It sounds really interesting. I'm just trying to figure out how it'd be used to perform miracles, which is tricky without seeing any performances or descriptions of effects/procedures. Thomas mentioned his distaste for the old "Now put your drawing in my wallet" ruse, which I agree with. But, if I'm understanding the wallet correctly, similar issues could arise from its use: "Now lean on my wallet to draw your image..." etc. Maybe I'm misunderstanding how the how thing works. Can anyone clarify? Perhaps not by describing the secrets of the wallet, but instead describing the procedure of how it's used? Like: Spectator draws something, it does in wallet, you know what they drew. Or, they are given a post-it, it is stuck to the wallet, then removed, you take back wallet and know the drawing, etc.

"Lean on my wallet to draw your image???" While we can't discuss the method here, that is NOT how Imp devices should be presented or handled. This wallet actually looks like a small post-it note holder that also acts as a wallet. No "leaning" or any pressure at all is required. If both you and the participant are standing it is perfectly logical to use as a writing rest.

Thank you, Bob! Smile

Neil, as I said in a post on the first page of this thread: We're happy to provide you further information - but at some point we would prefer not to do more in depth on the public sites of this forum.

But there are plenty of ways to deal with the issue you mentioned.

Cheers

Well, no, of course not. I phrased it like that to try to get my point across, which was that I have no idea how the wallet is used within the context of a routine (quite aside from its actual secret). I was interested in the procedural role it plays.

Thanks for the link Thomas, I'll check it out when I eventually gain access.
