I still prefer your pad, described in the paralabs book, jan. I've worked that into a few routines easily as the impression is such a great quality.
For me the paranormal wallet has only been effective for pictures. |

That' s o. k., as I do prefer "my pad" too, due to routines I do and circumstances. Jan

There are different tools for different circumstances. And I use imp****ions a LOT. There are few props out there that offer more potential uses than an im* pad.
I still wouldn't use the wallet on stage...the ParaP*ds are perfect for this. Using the wallet there would look strange. But in a more casual setting...an "impromptu" demonstration -- or even in a parlor show...I've had great success with it. I only use these for DD's however. I've found the you-know-what is still much clearer on the pad than the wallet. Maybe it's the thickness of the leather? There's still a good...i * pre*...sion -- but, to my mind it lacks the crispness of the pads. It's reliable, of course. But don't expect the same performance you'll get from a pad. And let's take a second to think about where it makes SENSE to have a drawing made on your wallet. Would you be so unprepared for a stage show that you need to use your wallet? Probably not...but it's perfectly reasonable that it get used in a more casual setting. And as I have already indicated, there's a place for billets and a couple of other goodies inside the wallet that enable me to get a solid 45 minute walkabout set using the wallet alone. That's extremely valuable to me. I would still prefer the possibility to get my p**k through a hidden fl*p as opposed to needing to remove materials from the wallet -- but I'm just quibbling a little, since I've used that thing literally hundreds of times and it's not been an issue even once. (The SAW had a great system for this, though. A variation of this would make the ParaNorm*l the PERFECT walkabout device.) Still this is a splendid prop with all of the ParaLabs attention to detail and design. Well worth the investment for any performer who uses this kind of prop. David

David, do you remove materials from the wallet openly or, later, apparently from your pocket?

I do it openly.

What I love most about this, and jans wonderful pad, is the incredible presentational opportunities offered by the time misdirection.

You might want to reconsider that . Based on ideas from Bob (as discussed in inner thoughts a few months ago) it is the latter option that really makes the wallet special for me.

Was wondering if anyone could tell me about how many performances you can expect from the supplied pen(s)? Can replacements be found in the US? If so can they be gimmicked easily or does it make more sense to purchase more from ParaLabs or perhaps the ParaPen Construction kit?
Thanks - Steve |

Not a post by Bob, rather my search for the ebook by him detailing his thoughts on a similar handling. Here is the relevant information:
"I finally found the book (actually books) released by Bob Cassidy that referenced the handling I mentioned above. In "The Confessions of Dr. Crow (2002)" the old Hoodoo man credits Al Baker as the originator of this idea (Dr. Crow also claims teaching his version to Hanussen "before he went and got himself killed") and provides an intelligent, constructive criticism and improvement for one phase of the Baker handling. The effect is called Dr. Crow's Address Book. I won't go into detail other than to say it uses ESP cards (taken from an envelope) so is especially fitting for the ParaNormal Wallet given other available ParaLabs products. In 2004, Bob returns to his mentor with "The Hidden Mysteries Of Dr. Crow." Though Dr. Crow still expresses his preference for an address book, Bob updates things to a dictionary in a wonderful effect called The Vision that is in itself a lesson in especially devious logical disconnects. I advise all ParaNormal Wallet owners to seek out these routines for the many excellent subtleties taught via the Crow-Cassidy lineage. They fit in beautifully with The ParaNormal Wallet and will enhance your own ideas as well as inspire new routines." Hope that helps! |

Get the kit, Steve. You can create new pens within minutes that way.
The pens typically last three to four months, but that is effected by the kind of pen you select...the density of the fibres. David

I already own the Parap*d but fell in love with the wallet somehow. The idea having a similar imp******* de**** with me all the time makes me really want to purchase it. But that much money for something I already own as a pad? I guess I need one last argument from you guys that it‘s a necessary alternative to my Parap*d. :/
