I think it was expected for a while that he was not long for the world.

He was an inspiration to me in several different ways, and I am going to miss him terribly.

Rest in Peace Stan, you made the world a better place.

When Jonathan mentioned the dichotomy of DC's Hawk&Dove,it made me reflect on other dichotomous characters. By far, the most famous of dichotomous characters in comics is Two-Face. Regrettably Eclipso bored me. And how about Rose and the Thorn.

My favorite dichotomy is the short story where Astronauts landed on an alien planet orbiting a Binary Sun (Two suns with different intensities and magnitudes). Depending on which sun was in prominence at a particular time, the indigenous inhabitants would alternate between peaceful or belligerent.

By the way, as to Two-Face which I included-- to call him a villain might be Inaccurate because he is Insane and could be exonerated on that basis.

Yea no. He would not be exonerated. Many serial killers are insane and not exonerated.

Unless we're talking comic book justice then all bets are off.

Nah, Joker is considered insane and he's certainly not exonerated for anything he's done.

I like Rose and Thorn. If the DCCU can avoid imploding, a Rose and the Thorn film would be cool.

What did anyone think of DD season 3?

I liked it. I think it was one of the better Netflix shows that avoided some of the problems in others.

I'm not a fan of Vincent D'Onofrio's portrayal of Kingpin but that may be just me. I know he's generally heralded as fantastic for the part. A couple of things put me off. One is just the cadence of speech he gives KingPin. Another is not really his fault but just how KingPin is written for Netflix. I was never a big Daredevil comic fan so it's possible they changed KingPin's character from how I remember him when he was introduced in SpiderMan. He was pretty much superhumanly powerful and fast and could go toe to toe with Spiderman. In Daredevil he's just a big strong guy, nothing terribly out of the ordinary.

There was a lot to like in the show. I liked the introduction of Bullseye, the resolution of the relationship between Matt, Foggy and Karen, how they handled the storyline about Matt's mother.

Maybe the best thing about the season is that it didn't feel like it went on for too long. In some of the other NetFlix shows, it seemed like they didn't have enough story for all the episodes so they just kept retelling the same story over and over and Daredevil didn't feel that way. So, anyway, I hope they do another.

Oddly enough one of the criticisms of the show was that it DID go too long, and sort of sagged in the middle. (I agree with you, for me it was good story telling.) People compare it to 8 episode seasons of Ozark as a benchmark.

Oddly enough originally I really liked the KingPin. Thought they got him right. BUT then as it went on it sort of got to me the exact way it did to you. I WAS a fan of DD and this depiction was better in small doses.

The other thing that was odd is just how fast and how complete his organization took shape.

All in all I hope KingPin is not in another season. I just think that it is gotten to a sort of pause point and there is a plethora of other villains to put DD up against.

I loved DD season three. I also loved D'Onofrio's portrayal. I think that if a large man was wealthy and unscrupulous and had a hair-trigger temper, that is exactly what it might look like. This is not the first time I have praised Vincent for his acting.

What I loved about Bullseye is that they made me believe the guy was possible. In the DD movie, I took him as more of a dangerous clown. Here he had a well-developed character and a backstory that made him at least a little bit tragic and sympathetic.

Another thing I liked was that Matt didn't survive the building falling on him and just walk away like comic books tend to do. He was messed up, and he stayed messed up for a while.

I will agree Danny that though I love D'Onofrio's kingpin, season four doesn't need him. Maybe we can get a cameo from Stiltman?

Loved all of the Netflix Marvel shows. Seasons 1 & 2 of Iron Fist were night & day. Defenders was maybe my least favorite.

I also found myself liking Justice League more than I expected and the DC shows aren't horrible but it's maddening how important they make the crossovers so DC TV is a huge time commitment.

Yes, I know what you mean about DC on CW. What gratifies me is that even obscure characters such as Rip Hunter and even Doctor Midnight have gotten exposure on live action tv. Doc Midnight's trademark is that he can see in the dark. What surprises me is that just recently I found out that prior to Doc Midnight there was a character in the 1930s PULP magazines called the Black Bat who could see in the dark. Which makes me wonder how many of you actually have a collection of those 1930s Pulps.

What impressed me about the CW's Legends of Tomorrow is that they took DC's Western character of Jonah Hex and incorporated that Western character into Time travel. Using a Western character in science fiction. But what I cannot figure out is his facial disfigurement. Because he has a patch of skin that extends from above his upper lip and stretches like a bridge over to below his lower lip. Although I have seen in Real life from Ripley's show of True-life Oddities where a man had a severe disfigurement where he was missing a great deal of his face. As a result, his eyeball socket was empty so he could insert his fingers into the empty socket and have those fingers protrude from his mouth.

Daredevil now cancelled also. I'm surprised. I think it was pretty darn good and can only guess that Disney may want it.

Jessica Jones and Punisher have been previously announced for new seasons but at this point I would bet that they will also both be cancelled either before or after each of the next seasons for them.

No doubt. However, while they may use Daredevil as a character in one of the shows they are putting together, I suspect they won't continue the series as it existed on NetFlix which is too bad.

Interesting point. Disney does have a history of going their own way that is true. I was thin joining just a straight swap to the service. I didn't think of it that way you mentioned.

I think he gets a few things wrong.

"So if Netflix kept making the Marvel shows, then they would be producing content owned by someone else that would serve to drive consumers to a competing service full of content explicitly taken away from Netflix."

I think NetFlix has stated that the shows they produced will stay on NetFlix and be available for viewers to watch in the future despite the fact that it might "serve to drive consumers to a competing service."

"In that context, it’s not hard to already see why the business decision to cease production on the Marvel shows is a logical one for Netflix."

Does anyone really think it was NetFlix's decision to cease production?? Pretty sure it was a Disney decision and not a NetFlix decision.

This seems to indicate Netflix did the canceling.
