To answer Jonathan's question about the existence of any Joe Shuster original art, I don't know. I don't think anybody used to preserve any original art during the 1940s. At least none that I know of. The very first time I heard of original art was in a 1960s issue of The Flash where in a letter column the editor gave one page of original art to a reader because of a letter he wrote.

Sorry, It's a story about the guy who Schuster met and who became the face of Superman/Clark Kent. Schuster was giving out artwork way back in that day. Nice sketches. There are several online if you google for images.

Highest rating comic-book movie even a month before it's released.

I hope it does well. I hope it is a great film. I am a HUGE Joker fan and was nervous about the casting.

I too am looking forward to the Joker film. It will be here soon. I agree to being uncertain about the casting, but I said the same thing about Heath, and boy did he set the bar high.

After having seen The Patriot, and A Knights Tale, I was pretty certain he was a great choice.

Joaquin Phoenix is great in the trailer. He's believably insane both on and off-screen.

I was given this advice regarding my copy of Green Lantern #1 (1960) Cliff, are you referring to comics that are encapsulated? That's where the comic is officially evaluated and then graded. Then a certificate is inserted with the comic into a permanent slab which is locked with permanent screws. And the certificate designates a specific rating from 1 to 10 and describes the conditions on which the appraisal was made. 10 is the highest rating but the grading uses decimal points too, for example, 7.5, etc. Judging from your description,Cliff, your comic seems so brittle and fragile that it might likely rate 4.3 or so. But it's Green Lantern #1 so even at that low rating it would fetch you several thousand dollars. |

The book is worthless no matter what the title is. Yep frame it but at auction it will bring very little.

Actually, the last time I held it to scrutiny using the Overstreet guide, I came to believe it was worth about $250 at best.

What it is worth is what you can get someone to pay, not what some guide says. He got zero when he tried.

If the graphics are cool and it's professionally framed it should fetch at least a few hundred. That is essentially worthless.

When the Green Lantern movie came out, its back-issue gained some market value. But not too much because the movie itself was a letdown. I know there are plans for a sequel called Green Lantern Corps but I seriously doubt it will materialize because the attitude among audiences is that Green Lantern's ring materializing those energy-constructs looks too cartoony.

None of that matters. The book is basically worthless, which is why the advice he got was to cheat the government.

Then the tennis-ball is in Cliff's court now. The final decision is his.
