Absolutly Great show today. Even the Mummy rocked. Jacks For You was the only clinker.
P.S. Sean makes the show better. Keith Shazam

Another fantastic show, tons a cool stuff and as always nice to see Sean on the show always gives some good laughs, also his patter for the mummy trick was some of the most intimate and natural mentalism patter I've seen he has a true gift.

So is "Jacks For You" just "B-Wave" with a stand?

Anyone else think Ash and Ember will be the next trick that everyone will buy but that no one will ever do? This guy does but I'm an old fart.

Hmmm... Not sure what happened here.
I do understand that there are many effects, in a given week, that they need to give the once over. In many cases they'll even work up a demo, but it seems clear that they missed the section on displays/changes that will work for a larger crowd. The favorable angles are nearly 180° so I have to assume it was just a small oversight or a situation where they couldn't give the instruction a full view. No big deal, but I'll shoot a quick clip tomorrow that will ease any worries about the angle restrictions and post it here. All that aside, thanks for taking the time to review Ash & Ember guys! I love the show and this is truly a milestone for me. Cheers!

Wouldn't the color changing ring work EVEN for the spectators behind you? Wouldn't they see a color change too and be none the wiser? Just as long as you don't actually call out the color, right?

Hi Zach, we'd love to see that video if you could add it to the thread! Its true, there is limited time to watch the effects that come in, and in the case of Ash&Ember the effect only arrived with us about an hour and a half before we were shooting the show. I'll also say that the guys were far more skeptical of the effect before they got their hands on it, its always nice to have a pleasant surprise!

I still would love to see a special where Sean, Craig and David answer these and maybe demo something along the way.
Favorite Effects/ Products 1. Stage 2. Close-Up 3. DVD Purchase 4. Book Purchase Heck, I don't even care if they plug their own stuff. I just think it would be a fun show even if it would be a bit longer. |

I watched the download in full before playing around with the ring when it came in. Here's a bit of update for you buddy! You got a good review! I liked it! Thanks for coming back with comments regarding 'oversights' and not being able to give the demo a full view though...really appreciate that. It looks like for your sake I need to be clear! You can say what you like on the download regarding angles but I like to be honest with my viewers and so does Sean. We listened to what you said, thought about it and said what we said. No oversights, just our opinion. I even dropped in the clip with the lighter at the end of the show because I liked it so much. After reading your comments I wish I'd never bothered! Sorry about the rant guys but some people just want you to repeat what is in their instructions and don't like you to have your own opinion on it, putting down to oversights. Oh well.... Cheers Guys

Just to reiterate.....
I actually do like the effect! I also look forward to the download but I do believe the best effects that I personally would like to perform are a bit anglely. Cheers Dave

Thousands maybe? I'm sure that we are waiting with baited breath to see you perform this "large crowd" pleaser. Where do you perform it - Madison Square Garden? Or, maybe you jumped on a plane and played it at London's O2 Arena? Please tell us; the wait is killing me. Really looking forward to seeing how nearly 50% of the"'larger crowd" react - you know the ones that I mean? In other words, the poor sods who are located within the non-favourable "nearly 180°" part. You could shout those immortal words of Morecambe and Wise - "what do you think of the show so far folks"?

Here's a short video showing the angles that you'll have when performing Ash & Ember. If nothing else, I hope it can help anyone curious about the effect to make a more informed decision about wether or not Ash & Ember will be a good fit for them. And if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks again for the kind words David and Sean, my aim was not to stir the pot with my post, you guys have a difficult but necessary function in the magic community. You've saved many people from buyer's remorse, and I'm no exception. Cheers!

Thank goodness we have the video so there is no doubt how you really feel. Honestly Zach I worry for you posting videos like this on the Café and expecting people to continue to take you seriously. Let me reiterate once again. Their is no "miss-information" in our review in which I stated quite clearly that I liked the effect. Thank you for taking the time to 'convince' us that it is indeed workable at 180 degrees but I'm afraid I'm not getting it. You see it's not just about the display is it? It's about those amazing and I do mean amazing changes when you need to spotlight focus everyone's attention on the ring. At that moment it is impossible for everyone to see the effect clearly without exposure from 180 degrees. Like I said on the miss informed review. What you do is incredible and I still stand by that. I just feel that you are loosing credibility by not conceding on this one issue. More miss information? I'll let the viewers decide. Cheers Dave
