The discussion was not about his appointment to the privy council - that was a side issue that was brought up in regards to his honors etc., which you were trying to play off as nothing and that he is just a doddering old fool with no background or experience, which is not the case.
Never criticize someone else until you have walked a mile in their shoes. Then, when you do criticize them, you will be a mile away from them and you will have their shoes.
