I am not a magician but, like everyone else, I like magic. What is a non-magician doing here? I have a niece who is 6 years old. I've been buying her litlle magic tricks for awhile now and she loves them.

Welcome shleprock,
Usually I'm not too comfortable welcoming a non-Magician here but I can see you may need guidance. If you have a Brick and Mortar Magic Shop in your town the people behind the counter can be of great help. They can see your niece and suggest items. Not every town has a real Magic Shop so you can also ask here in the "New to Magic" forum. I don't think the difference is so big in being a girl. You'll want advice from someone who started young (and some here started really young unlike myself). They can tell you what worked best for them. One of the most important ways you can help is to watch the same effect over and over, clap and provide kind guidance (a little at a time) about how to improve. You are sure to learn something about Magic in the process. So welcome to Magic. I applaud your beginning journey. -Mary Mowder |
