Hi Jason,
I understand that you enjoy playing pool. What sort of pool do you prefer? Nine ball, straight pool, snooker, etc. Also, do you have any other hobbies, such as listening to certain music? |

Tom,
I grew up playing 8-ball and still like it the best. I think there is probably more overall strategy in 8-ball than in 9-ball, which is a purer, "shotmaking" game. Of course, 1-pocket is the chess game of the pool table these days, but I don't know much about it other than the basics. I never was much for straight pool, although all the books say it's the best game for improving your overall skill set. In general I prefer the power break shot games over the finessed break shot games. I've only played snooker a handful of times in my life. I enjoyed it and wish I could play more often and with someone that was really good at the game to give me some pointers. I tried 3-cushion billiards once. I eventually walked away after a half-hour of not scoring a single point. It's the hardest game I've ever played. I liked it though. Jason

Hi Jason,
Thanks for the reply. I am sure that you know that Joe Porper makes some of the finest pool cues in the world. |
