If Ebola was something you could shoot with a handgun no one would raise an eyebrow. It would just be open season on people with the sniffles.

Currently there is no reason to panic. Regardless of what FOX news wants you to believe.

Granted the Texas case is a potential threat and a major screw up. Odd, it is a private company. I thought only government agencies could screw up in this fashion. But evidence is beginning to show that it had more to do with them seeing the patient as an uninsured black man than a potential vector. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/10/02......t-Add-Up

If we had single payer chances are he would not have been turned away from the hospital in the fist place.

So calm down. At this point in time everything is under control.

Despite your expertise on Ebola and the whole medical profession including single payer etc., from all that I am reading and hearing I believe you are wrong in a number of your assumptions. However I am still keeping calm as per your advice.

Probably touched her own eyes, or had a cut or tear in both protection and skin. Let's hope it's been caught early enough for successful treatment.

Might as well throw gas on the fire. Did anyone else hear that Mexico is actually giving money to illegal immigrants to help them fight to stay in the U.S.? Or is that a Fox news thing?

Yup...the Mexican government is paying the attorney fees of some illegal immigrants to avoid deportation.

Do you have a reference for this?

I see that this NPR report has stirred up some controversy. But this appears to be providing funds for Mexicans to pay the fees for DACA, an existing (and controversial) legal program while (illegally) in the USA. But I see no mention of paying for legal fees.

Sorry...my bad. That's what I was referring to, but I ahould have said "legal fees" or "legal costs," not "attorney fees" (that I know of).

LOL!! As if any of that equates to holding the sitting US President personally responsible for afflicting his own citizens with a deadly disease as "payback" of some sort. Smile

Besides, MSNBC is not "blaming the NRA for Ebola." They're pointing out that the NRA is a factor in holding up the nomination of the SG, who would then be able to advise on matters such as Ebola. That's quite different than "blaming the NRA for Ebola."

The Democrat Ad actually is actually quite plausible. It's true that the GOP has called for cuts in the CDC and NIH. So that's nowhere near as outlandish as the idea that Obama wants to introduce Ebola into the country and slaughter his own citizens for his own nefarious purposes.

Joan Walsh did not directly blame Rick Perry. She's pointing out the conditions in Texas which are not conducive to tackling major outbreaks.

Again, this is all weak sauce when you compare it to the right's 6 year relentless and nonsensical demonization of Obama for everything from his middle name, to a fist-bump, to how he eats a hamburger, to Benghazi, to the color of his suit, to Ebola, etc., etc.

The biggest killers normally are Respiratory infection, AIDS, diarrhoeal diseases, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria. Not to mention infectious diseases such as guinea worm disease, schistosomiasis, leprosy, Buruli ulcer, cholera, dengue, dengue haemorrhagic fever, measles and human rabies, 14 + million people die each year from known and preventable infectious diseases. All these are caused by global warming. 97% at least.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Well, it IS kinda hard for the left to blame a sitting US President for Ebola when it's their guy in office. That's why they've gotta settle for Republicans, the NRA, and Rick Perry. (Which you obviously think all makes sense! Smile )

Please show where the msm media said anything about Bush as vile as what Limbaugh--still number one in radio? I dunno--says on any given day. Not even close.

Oh, I'd say close and well beyond. But I suppose I'd need specifics.
