Hey there!
I just recently found out about this site from a member that works at 'Hocus Pocus', a magic shop in Philly. I've been interested in magic for a while. My preference is doing magic as a hobby, not as a profession. Just getting a smile from someone's face is payment enough for me! I'm here because I like discussing various topics with my other fellow hobbyists. Also, I'm trying to improve in my confidence when performing magic for friends/family. If I can get over this hump I'll feel so much better about myself! If you like to chat feel free to do so. Take care and I look forward to chatting with you soon. -Kish |

PhillyKish,
Welcome to our little corner of the world. Glad to see that there is a good shop in Philly; all the ones I knew from the 70's and early 80's are long gone. If you have any interest in local clubs, and conventions coming to that area, just give a shout out. There are a number of us with some connection to Philly and the surrounding area who post here, so one of us can let you know what you need. JM (Phormerly phrom Philly)

Great!
I've been surfin this site and there's LOTS of good information. I remember a local magician, Bob Little. I went to one of his Lectures. Very interesting. I tried contacting him later, but no luck. C'est la vie. I try to keep tabs on shows in Atlantic City since it's not too far from me. But if I can find out about local conventions/lectures inthe area, I would definitely be interested. I'd like as much exposure as I can. Thanks! -Phillykish |

PK,
Here you are: http://www.boblittlessupersunday.com . You might also check out the S.A.M. meeting in N.E. Philly. I believe that they still meet on a Thursday at the Polish Home, on Academy Rd. There is an IBM Ring that meets in Delaware County. Good luck! JM

Hi there phillykish! I'm originally from philly, but home now in bucks county - not far from New Hope. I'm guessing you met Bob Johnson down off south street at hocus pocus. Nice people there and a nice strolling area - when its warmer!
Welcome to the Café and I hope to see you around at the store, or at the next Bob Little convention (you know Dave Scribner will be performing his dove act at the next one!) |
