Taking silver tinsel from a Christmas Tree and tossing it in the air.
When it comes down it is a silver cane. Don't know if it's my favorite but it's the one I have used the longest.

My favourite is The real meaning of Christmas by Duane Laflin - use A4 cards or one way uk puppets in boxes (I use Elvis, Santa, Angel on top of a tree, Baby Jesus in the arms of Mary)
Others I use include Story sack, outside is wrapping paper- opened by my puppet Doggy I also bauble in egg bag, Bells from Axtell Drawing board Candy cane as a wand Candy cane puppet - each child then gets a candy cane and message about the colours/shape Big bag of Blitzen (Wonder Imagery) Look for the Laflin and David Ginn books/ lecture notes that have both secular and Christian messages

During The Christmas season, I play songs while shopping and waiting in line.
The magic is in the smiles and conversations. It also helps me practice to use them at gigs. Sometimes I say I'm going to play a Christmas song and play another recognizable tune.(not Christmas - say The Baseball song - (Go Royals) Harris

You might want to check out Tony Chris' Christmas magic DVD. No spiritual presentations, but more than Santa.

Here's some musical magic.
Harmonica that is. It's one of the most challenging pieces I do. I need to practice it a lot, in the weeks ahead. First gig of the season is on December 5th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zisBXYXl......lP-srpvQ love and prayers

Hi Randy -
As you know, I do a Christmas-fun themed show at Christmas time for lots of parties. References to Snowmen, Reindeer, Santa, Candy Canes, Christmas Trees, Stockings, etc. I even have special stage illusions to make Santa appear at the end of the show, for an extra fee. These shows are not gospel shows. But I do offer a Christmas-themed gospel show to churches. Here's an outline of my Christmas-themed gospel show that I did for a large church event last Christmas. The first few tricks are more about fun, and then I have a bit more message to the tricks later in the show. 1. Flash Appearing Christmas Banner (Tommy James) & Poinsettia Botania (Richard Hughes) 2. Christmas Visible Colour Painting, with Breakaway Crayon -- (I have the insert of the Christmas Tree which colours in, that was available from Hank Lee's Magic Factory at one time. The Breakaway Crayon is from Danny Orleans. Mostly presented as pure fun, but I talk about how a friend used to set up his nativity scene under his Christmas tree, where you put presents, because Jesus is the best gift of all. So, a bit of a message. FYI, Laflin Magic currently sells a visible colour painting with a snowman insert.) This routine features audience participation by one child. 3. Rubber Chicken Cards, with Rubber Chicken -- (this is my own routine, based on David Ginn's Lobster Cards trick, and was published in David Ginn's Christmas Magic Workbook lecture notes... although there's an error in the stacking info in the lecture notes. A spelling trick, with the gag of a re-appearing rubber chicken, with 9 different Christmas words. Santa is not one of the words. The Magi are referenced in this trick, as are other Christmas words, so it's easy to do a bit of a talk about the Wise Men coming to worship Jesus.) This routine features audience participation by two children. 4. Ring in Nest of Boxes -- (a gospel presentation talking about Christmas presents, but also talking about Matthew 13:44-46, about how we are to seek God like looking for a pearl of great value, or a treasure hidden in a field.) This routine features audience participation by one child. 5. ABC Blocks, with the word "Heaven" written on the paper bag -- (So, a gospel presentation. I think the patter is from a Duane Laflin book. "A" - All people go heaven, "B" - Believers go to heaven, and "C" - Church-goers go to heaven. In the end, the "B" block ends up in the bag. I often use Romans 10:9 as the verse for this trick.) 6. "Jesus Loves You" version of Punchline (Timothy Wenk) -- (the added benefit, is that you make a little bit of snow without the big mess of a snowstorm trick.) - Donald P.S. Another trick I've done in the past at Christmas gospel shows, is use a dove pan to produce objects representing Frankincense, Gold and Myrrh, and talk about the meaning behind those 3 gifts. I've even dressed 3 children up as the wise men / 3 kings, with balloon costumes / hats.

Digging up an old thread (October and November 2014), to add something new.
Something new for 2017 is a set of silks from Barry Mitchell. https://www.barrymitchellproducts.com/pr......nt-silks Peppermint Silks (Candy Cane Silks), from Barry Mitchell, would lend itself nicely to a gospel message about being broken because of our sins, and Christ restoring us. --- This is another nice prop / routine that could lend itself to a gospel message, or non-Santa Christmas message. It's been around for a couple of years now. I don't own one, but it's on my wish list. http://www.smmagic.com/?p=682 The Lost Star, from Smoky Mountain Magic. Watch the video to see the routine that Dan provides with it (nice message, which could be changed to a gospel message). - Donald

Even though the Hank Lee version of the Christmas Tree Visible Colour Painting has been unavailable for many years, there is now a version of a Christmas Tree Visible Colour Painting being made by Ickle Pickle Magic. Laflin Magic Store is one of the online stores that sells this insert (although it's currently listed as back-ordered on their website). https://www.laflinmagicstore.com/Christm......ctwf.htm https://www.laflinmagicstore.com/Christm......mcct.htm if you look around their site, they sell many different inserts to go with the frame. Use the keywords "insert" or "frame" for a search on their site to find them all. - Donald
