I purchased it. The Dvd is very short and in subtitles with spelling mistakes. The sound on the dvd is all screwed up, but like I said there is subtitles. The effect is not as easy for me as the other poster says it was for him. Angle are not an issue for me. Issue for me is I feel the dvd explanantion is lacking. It uses regular latex balloon and regular silks.
Because of tbe lack of quality on the dvd and the lacking of info, there is no way I can say the price tag is worth it to me. I seriously thought of returning it. I was hoping to use this and then go into needle in balloon as the finale, but I have to buy more balloon to practice with because it only came with four. I used up all my balloons practicing.

I purchased this and am very happy with it. Haven't tried it out on real people yet, but it looks pretty convincing in the mirror. I ordered two bags of needle-in-balloon balloons at the same time, so have plenty to practice with.
Personally, I think the DVD covers everything you need to know about the effect and handling. Yes, it's a short DVD, but it's thorough and there's no fluff. Had to watch it a few times with balloon in hand to pick up on all of the little handling subtleties. It would be nice if you could purchase additional gimmicks at a reasonable price so you could have a bunch of these in your pocket ready to go. Absent that option, I'm exploring a couple of ideas for making gimmicks that accomplish the same task. Like the newspaper tear, this is a quick, very visual effect that is simple to understand and really looks impossible. And it's completely examinable. Regardless of how you feel about handing out props for examination, I'm guessing that in this particular case the examination phase is an essential convincer, plus it gives you a moment to clean up. While playing around with this, one idea that occurred to me would be to start off with making a rather ornate balloon animal, like the one of two doves kissing while perched on a big red heart. After handing that out to a couple, blow this one up and proudly announce that it's a balloon sculpture of a comet, which will hopefully at least get a chuckle. Comets, of course, are composed of the oldest "stem cell" elements that we know of, and we are only now beginning to study their unique properties. By the time you get the handkerchief out and they realize you're doing a trick, you'll already have done the initial dirty. Anyway, that's one idea.

RNK was kind enough to email me and give me advice on the handling. My DVD is all screwed up and wasn't able to read all the subtitles properly. Thanks to RNK I am now good to go.

I performed this with kids/adults about 3 to 4 feet away from me. I have to applaud the huge reactions this got. Everyone was truly amazed! This is one of those effects for me that is a lot of fun to perform. I am going to give this a go at a corporate Christmas party this Friday. It will interesting to see how a bunch of engineers and consultants view this effect.

If I'm walking around at a party with balloons that are already inflated, can I use one of them for this effect? In other words, can I use a borrowed balloon?

I can't believe how well this played in front of children at a recent Christmas show I performed. Started with putting the silk in balloon which got a lot of vocal "Wooow", then performed needle though the same balloon which got more of the same response. I ended it with restored balloon, (bobo switch version) and handed out the balloon to one of the children to keep. I think I should of used it as my closer because it got the best reaction from all the children and even parents.

I have you to thank RNK. Otherwise it would of been thrown in my drawer. I should of also mentioned that after I do the needle in balloon I then toss the balloon in the air and pop it with the needle, then restore it.

I think it looks awesome and it isn't cards, coins or cups; it's something completely different. I like the fact that it can be done close up or at a birthday party and can even be given away. I'm with you RNK, it's surprising that there isn't more buzz. Probably sticker shock.

I agree- at first I thought the price was high. Part of me still does a little but after experiencing the impact this has I really don't think it is. This effect is magic at it's best- visual and impossible looking. And I agree Theodore- something different than the usual that can be performed in any situation. I was not going to purchase it at first but I contacted Devin Knight who has never steered me wrong and asked what his thoughts were on this. He simply replied- it's very good and you WILL use it. Well- he wasn't wrong!

Okay, now that I have it I must say I agree completely with RNK's review.
Is it worth 60 dollars for the gimmicks? No. Is it worth 60 dollars for a beautiful piece of magic that you WILL perform? YES! The DVD is clear, there isn't much to it besides practice in front of a mirror to get your handling down. But this has the potential to play just as everyone has been saying it plays- huge! This looks like real magic. Danny- your idea of combining it with needle thru balloon and restored balloon are excellent!

Well everyone, Thank You so much for your reviews and feedback on WSiB. I just discovered this effect on Penguin a few days ago. I have pretty much been out of the 'magic loop', for the better part of 15 years. I performed magic from 77 to 2000, adding in Balloon Twisting in 85. By 2000 all my emails & calls were for Balloon Twisting. My magic got packed away for years. Since January of this year I have been giving Serious thot to getting back into magic, to add more Variety & Value to what I do. Plus, I REALLY miss it, being my 'roots' for Entertaining. Since I've been a Balloon Twister for 30 yrs, I decided about 2 wks ago to put together a Full Show all with Balloons. I can either take a break from Line Work and do a trick or two, OR, I can advertise a full 30 - 60 minute show, once it's ready. I've been scouring the Internet looking for ideas of good tricks with Balloons. I was on Penguins site a few days ago and typed in Magic with Balloons. Several ideas came up, one with Ian Garrison, and of course Latex and Detach, all of which I have already purchased. Then I saw thie WSIB and watched the Trailer. It floored me and I went to order, and then saw 60.00. I'm in Canada, so it's going to be over 70.00 plus shipping, so closer to over 80.00. In looking at this, a short DVD, a gimmick, and 4 or 5 balloons, I was thinking 29.95 or 34.95 would be reasonable. I already have Balloons. Some of the reviews here have 'almost' convinced me to invest the possible 80.00 bucks. I was hoping 'maybe' to find it cheaper on the Magic Auction, which I just got an email from, but not there yet, haha. Just not sure I want to drop 80 bucks on this.
