I'm excited to finally get the one handed top palm down flawlessly thanks to Glenn Morphew.
I posted this here because I use a palm in my restaurant work every week but wanted it to look "really" natural.
I stayed away from the one handed top palm because , for me, it didn't look natural and could never hit it 100%, now Woo Hoo I can.

Glenn is an "excellent" teacher and the DVD is well put together. He is very clear on finger placement as well as your body language after the palm. Naturalness of action is the goal. I never heard of Glenn before, just saw a post with his named mentioned here. If you do strolling, if you own a deck of cards, Glenn's DVD IMHO is certainly worth getting. Very pleased

Timing and the misdirection of asking a question while looking in their eyes always helps - but - it is satisifying to be a magician and perform slieghts that the average guy can't.

I'm going to be seeing Glenn lecture in November. He's, also, a really nice guy.

Or you can go to the website and click on magician products.
Glenn's teaching on the top palm as well as the rub-a-dub has helped me tremendously.
I'ts taken many of my routines to a whole new level. Wish I would have learned these techniques years ago.

I have the Rub A Dub suite, unfortunately the One Handed top Palm was not included. I paid about $15 well worth it for what I got. I wonder if the one handed top Palm can be purchased separately as a download.

A good one handed top palm is David Williamson's Pass Palm. Check it out! Smile

Is it odd that the one handed is the only palm I know? I just never learned any others. Probably should. But the one handed is perfect for a whack your pack type routine or card to wallet.

The one-handed top palm is hardly a difficult sleight.

Takes a week of constant practice.

I'm not a master of anything and I do that sleight care-free with my hands burned, if necessary, at every gig.

The one-hand top palm. For those that don't yet... Just do it!

Where did you learn your top palm from?
Thanks

I'm a big fan of Glenn's Rub A Dub vanish and one hand top palm. Easy to learn and very deceptive.

Honestly, I don't recall.

I would check out Card College and/or John Carney's DVD on palming, or Mike Close's material on palming.

Mike had some snazzy download material with very high quality videos on the subject.

I'm sure they are still available.

2 palms that should be considered are:

Bottom Palm - See Carney's material. The bottom palm is far less used than it can be/should be
Gambler's Cop - Easy and angles are great, believe it or not. More of a gutsy move but quite nice, when needed.

Is the Top Palm still available separate from Rub a Dub?

It is covered in The Homing Card by Francis Carlyle in Stars Of Magic. Which I will reiterate that every aspiring magician should read. It is an exceptional building block not just for routines but also to know how to be a real magician. To know where the seeds of everything you perform came from. Of course it is not the only book but it is packed cover to cover with the highest class of performers ever.

Hey, I just wanted to quickly add to bigfoot's post. The reference to the one handed top palm in Stars of Magic (which I will also reiterate that this is an exceptional book) was a reprint from Jean Hugard's Card Manipulations Series. I don't remember which series it is in, but it doesn't matter because there is a Dover book edition with them bound all together. It's also worth checking out.
