Hey, just thought I'd update...
I received my unit today with a repacked seal on it from Australia post ... As far as I can tell nothing's missing ... Must have just been a random spot check! Now to make some fireballs! CS |

Hello Magic Café, I've been a browser for a while, thought I'd join up and get to know a few.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/a......ero.html It's hit a mainstream tabloid paper here in the UK. Not the greatest secret in the world, it's a great gadget and had it not been in the paper I may have ordered one, but I do feel for now it would lose me a bit of credibility at a gig when someone says "Oh, I saw that in the Daily Mail the other day". Cheers, Smaltrab (Mark) |

Guys who have this. Have you done any cool effects or things with this?
I used it yesterday. I had some pick a card. I did the card in balloon effect. Made the balloon pop with a fire ball to revil the card. |

On Dec 13, 2014, MR Effecto wrote: Yes, I finally got a chance to see the actual prop and also play with it. Elimagic has already written a very detailed review as well as compared 'PYRO' with 'The Six Shooter'. So I will skip all that has already been said (all the pros & cons), and only address the points/ thoughts I feel should have been addressed and taken care of. I don't have the Six Shooter, so I won't be able to compare 'PYRO' with Six Shooter. OK here are my thoughts. Since all the good things about PYRO has already been so well covered, I would be talking about the drawbacks /limitations/ improvement of the device. Let me begin by saying that I see a lot of thinking and brainstorming gone in to creating and designing this prop which is aesthetic, compact and robust in design. The material used is robust and long lasting. Said that:- A portion of the Ad states and may I please quote: Quote:
* Over two years of refinements and seven prototypes, both PYRO Unit and the Remote have gone through hell and back, . . . . In spite of two years of refinement and prototyping, surprisingly the designer never felt the need to incorporate a wedge underneath the unit (permanently molded to the back of the unit) and seemingly at the last moment thought of providing a foam spacer, a temporary solution to the problem. The way the unit is strapped to the wrist this was a must and should have been thought of at the very initial design stage. One more point on the spacer. Please note that once the spacer is in place, the direction of shoot is off at an angle of about 30 degrees and is NOT in line to the extended hand. Hence when using the unit please keep the direction of shoot in mind. I would like to touch upon another point on the design of the unit. It would have been so much better and useful if the On-Off switch on the barrel unit was placed on the front of the unit (i.e. between the barrels). Thus one could easily switch 'on' or 'off' the unit when already in strapped position. Right now the On-Off switch is hiding under the sleeves when in strapped position. In one of the explanation video it discusses the loading of the device with various pros and cons with regards to the paper and cotton ball. It would have been nice if they had shown the effects and its repercussions when loading the wrong size of cotton ball as well as the paper the incorrect way. By showing this on the video, it would have given the user a fairly good idea as to how the device will behave under these circumstances. Unfortunately this has been left for the users to experiment and see it for themselves practically. Finally, this little marvel could have been made much more versatile with a little thought and modification to the circuit design. With that I mean, the device could have been operated both remotely as well as manually. For this all that would be needed (besides a little circuit modification) is to replace the On-Off switch with a mini 3 position On-Off-On slide switch (with middle Off) and a mini 'Push to On' switch for manual firing (fixed on the firing unit itself). . . . but these are only my thoughts. Overall 'PYRO' is a well designed prop worth every penny. I will happily recommend PYRO. Thank you for your time.

I don't care how "great" this prop is, that is too much popular right now and this is not worth it anyway, because everyone will say: "oh, this is that Pyro from YouTube!".
