I was going through some of my old magic collections last night and came across Robert Neales' Six Card Swindle. I picked it up in a box of stuff at a SAM auction years ago, but never took the time to read it. It looks really interesting. I can't find any posts of anyone who does it, so my questions are

Do you do it?

Is it worth the time to learn?

Any insights you have found in performing it.

I am curious as to why I have never heard anything about this. Is it a well kept secret, or not really practical to use in a gambling game?

Thanks
Paul

Okay,

I think I figured out why I'm not getting any hits on this post. I did not realize how

old this was. Last night I noticed that this booklet is a first edition and was printed by

Jeff Busby in April-1985, almost thirty years ago and apparently never reprinted. For

those interested here is the description on the back cover.

Six Card Swindle

The Six Card Swindle is a unique new confidence game played with just six

cards. Everything seems fair, yet you can win every time. In just ten minutes you can

learn the basic method of winning . . . and with a little more time, all of the

sophisticated ploys to make you unbeatable.

If you wish, you can allow the sucker to eventually discover the winning system,

and then beat him again.

You never lose, unless you choose to -- no matter what advantage you give the

sucker and no matter how much he thinks he knows about the secret of the game.

And you can con them again -- you can even show them how to win by letting

them in on the "secret" . . . and then beat them one more time!

This book comprehensively explains every secret of how to preform Six Card

Swindle. Included are the methods for winning the Random Play Six Card Swindle;

the Draw Play Six Card Swindle; there are subtle methods that allow the sucker to

change the rules of the game, apparently to his advantage, but in reality to your

advantage; and there's a new game of Twenty-One without cards.

This book also explains Devilish Dominoes -- a totally new con game with just

three dominoes, and a version of the Swindle with only four cards.

Each con game covered in this book seems so fair and above-board, yet each is

unbeatable, once you know the ingenious secrets and learn the systems.

For magicians, the Six Card Swindle makes an excellent demonstration of a con

game -- an intriguing and entertaining showcase of your ability to win every time --

even when you offer every advantage to the spectator to allow him to beat you!

FOR ENTERTAINMENT
PURPOSES ONLY!

I can't believe this was sitting all these years in an old box of auction items I

bought. I've started playing with it and to me it's one of those working " gems" you

rarely come across, and the above descriptions of it are 100% dead on. No trick

decks, or gaffs, just borrow or use any six cards {ace to six}

Best Regards
Paul
