Wasn't sure where to put this... I hope it's okay to post this here.

Some of you have probably seen me around the Café for the past year. Maybe some of you don't know so much about me.

I'm 17 years old, with a great love for magic with an extreme amount of dedication. I was being raised by my grandfather in Florida, around the center of the state in Port Saint Lucie. However, he's passed this past week and my whole life is kind of flipping upside down. I'm having to relocate to live with my aunt down in Hollywood, FL. I'm looking for fellow magicians that I can reach out to and talk about magic with. I'm leaving behind a great club and a lot of wonderful friends here in Port Saint Lucie. I know there's a couple of different clubs I can attend in the area, but can I get some recommendations on which one might suit me best? As a close-up worker, primarily in to cards. Another thing to keep in to consideration is my age... At 17, I know some clubs will not allow me to join. If you're a magician in the area and you've got any insight, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm on the other side of the state, but if I had to relocate to a place where I had multiple clubs to choose from, I'd try to hit them all up, a couple times. Good luck, sir.

Harley, I'm sorry about your grandfather.

One of the problems you may find down here in South Florida is that there are a lot of retired folks and not a lot of young magicians coming to the clubs. There's a good club in Fort Lauderdale, I'll send you contact info through PM.

Having said this, the older members are usually an incredible resource!! At Ring 45 we have FANTASIO and the amount of stuff this man has shared with us is incredible! There are other older members as well who've had exciting magic careers and have TONS of experience they're willing to share! So take advantage of that.

When I was your age I began working in a magic store in Texas called The Queen of Hearts. At that age, to me, everyone was old but I didn't blow these people off, I was a sponge and learned tons during that time! In fact that's when I first started in mentalism and have never looked back.
