I've started a new daily blog that I thought some of you might be interested in reading.
The blog focuses on a few areas that have obsessed me for a good part of my life: Theatre and other kinds of performance, Reading and Writing, and the Art of Magic. I will tend to stay clear of politics when possible--otherwise politics would crowd out everything else very quickly! Maybe a separate blog for that in the future. Let me know what you think, the good, the bad, and the ugly. You can click on the link in my sig to find it.

Read the first four entries. I particularly liked the poetic interlude.
Thanks for the words, I'll be following. John

+1 Good stuff. Great poem.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

Very nice blog, Jack. Enjoyed reading it very much and especially liked the poem.
I might disagree with you on the topic of disillusion and cynicism among magicians. (I find things that amaze me every day.) But maybe not. Well done. I've bookmarked it so I can continue to follow your commentaries. |

Thanks so much for taking a look and the comments! I'm new to blogging, but I think if you hit the follow button it allows you to get an email when there's a new post.

I also liked the poem.
It's nice to break up the normally rigid structures of blogs and introduce a little bit of whimsy. Variety is the spice of life. Well done Landmark! Ray.

I saw the wonderful Rocco at NYC's Magic Mania last night. I posted a review of his performance and some thoughts about his approach to magic on my new daily blog which includes things magical and other writings about Theater, Performance, and Writing. I think you'll enjoy the piece:
http://jackshalom.net/2014/11/17/rocco-the-art-of-giving/ You'll see that at this point there are quite a few other posts concerning magic, theater, or performance of some kind.
