As the holidays commence this week, shopping goes into total frenzy Friday, what are my fellow magicians asking for the Christmas?

Some Big Blind Media DVDs, "The Devil's Staircase" and the new Aronson book. And a bottle of scotch.

George1953, I'll second that. Getting an epidural for the first time ever this week. The problems are keeping me from performing. Hope you're able to overcome your back problems.

I've had 3 back surgeries over the years - two lower at L45 and L5S1. The last one was a plate from C5-C7.
Best advice I can provide to Geoge is: 1. Feel better! 2. Epidurals are generally crap and can't help herniations much. They will also cause you to gain some weight IMO - which exacerbates back issues (steroids) 3. Get a good MRI 4. Find the best possible surgeons if you are in debilitating pain and get multiple opinions 5. Only interview neurosurgeons - avoid orthopedic. Finer skill set. Especially dealing with nerve issues. 6. Get surgery if it can help - a good neurosurgeon can make a huge difference. 7. Lose weight if needed and get into a workout regimen to strengthen your core and back. This will make a huge difference. Good luck! Brett

Thanks Brett, actually they have told me that surgery isn'tan option, all they can do is pain management ! The worst pain is in my left kidney, I have been unable to sit or stand since February. They have given me all sorts of pain killers even injections, nothing touches it. But, this last week they have put me on different medication and yesterday I managed to sit up for an hour before I had to get flat again.
So it looks like the new stuff is working, just need to find the right doseage now. I'm hoping it continues to improve then I can think about working again next summer season, it starts in May so I've got time. Need to earn some money now.

I can honestly say that there is not one magic item out there at the moment that even remotely 'floats my boat' - nor that I'd want to purchase/use.
In fact, am I alone in thinking that 2014 has possibly been the worst in many years for either very poor and/or recycled utter dross, being released? Apart from sponge balls and rope, and a book originally written in the 50's, I've bought absolutely nowt.

Hey Merc! (I hope it's OK to use just your "first" name!)
Being retired, I've bought "nowt" either. --Not even "a" sponge ball or any rope! (I still have about two spools left!) All that I was going to ask Santa for is good health, but, George '53 needs it more.

There hasn't been a lot that has floated my boat either this year.
I have just put more time into sleight of hand more. Todd |
