What prompted you to walk into the kitchen?

I hope it didn't hurt too much, walking into the kitchen like that. Smile

My cat-like reflexes enabled me to avoid any significant impact.

Thanks for your concern.

Do any of you guys eat the pistachios UNSHELLED???

I have a dental patient the other day with a broken tooth and she said she broke it on a pistachio. I said was it a bad one? She said no, the shell crunched on the wrong part of her tooth!

She then went on to say that she eats her pistachios with the shell intact!

Anyone else wanna make a confession?

Kam

Here's my confession. I've tried pistachios once or twice. I don't like them.

Pistachios unshelled? I, like many with a middle-Eastern background, open them with my teeth. Smile

I already heard from her on Facebook. You're correct: she is.

Hooray for parsnips!

(Unless they screamed, like carrots do.)

I used a pretty simple recipe (which I'll adjust next time):

Peel the parsnips and halve them lengthwise. Cook them in boiling water until tender. (I overcooked them a little.) Let them cool, cut them again lengthwise (into quarters now), roll them in melted butter, and chill them. Put them into a bag with flour and shake it to coat them, then sauté them in butter until they're golden brown.

Apart from cooking them a bit less, I'll season them with salt and pepper before coating them with flour. Nevertheless, they were quite tasty.

It's sad that so many feel they must turn to the bottle to escape their angst.
