While not the "normal" magic we discuss here, I am curious if the latest addition to the Stange family has arrived? All in good health I should hope. Dear Caleb, What IS the latest word on the Book---OH, And have you a new baby yet!!! Smile Smile

Kay,

Sorry I haven't got back to you quicker - I guess my tardiness kind of answers your question Smile.

I'm delighted to report that Adam (our second son) was born safe and well on 6th January 2004. He weighed 9lb 12 oz at birth, has lots of hair - on his head, in case you're wondering - and he, and his mummy are doing very well.

'The Garden of the Strange' will be available by mid May at the latest; Luke Jermay's launching it at the Leeds convention. We're just waiting for credits, then we can (finally) call it done.

Many thanks for your keeping us in your thoughts, Kay. I appreciate it very much.

Warm regards,

Caleb Strange.

Congratulations to you Caleb and your family!!!!

Baby Adam and his older brother are certainly lucky to have a daddy like you - I can imagine the wonderful stories they will grow up with. I wish you and your family all the best. Smile Smile

Randy and Chrystal,

Many many thanks for your kind and lovely words - I deeply appreciate them Smile. There IS something miraculous about the birth of a child, whatever one's perspective, I feel. It is so soul-achingly beautiful and humbling to hold such a focusing of life and potential and joy in one's arms.

As for stories, one of the privileges of being a daddy (I've found with my eldest son) is that I'm EXPECTED to tell them. It is a constant delight to be able to introduce him to this dazzling trove of hidden treasure.

Warmest regards,

Paul Charlesworth a.k.a. Caleb Strange.

Hey Paul congratulations, I don't know how you have time to have two kids and write magic as well.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are of being told stories and tales .There is something magic about being told a story rather than read one, it's a more organic and spell binding experience. Not that there is anything wrong with the classics (my mum used to read me LOTR). It's just I am sure you have your own tales to tell!
