Before a show, Joe Diamond and I discuss the first magic trick we learned. Hijinks ensue. Recorded at The Magic Cabaret in Chicago: http://youtu.be/GkxIa1_c6eQ

Nice. Didn't see that one coming.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Reminded me of a quote from Punx: "When you watch a false magician, you will think, “What a magnificent trick!” When you watch a real magician, you will say, “What a wonderful artist!"

I suppose it depends on the intent of the words "real" and "false," but I think that quote might work better the other way round: When you watch a real magician, you think "What a magnificent trick!" But when you watch a false magician, you think "What a wonderful artist!"

Yikes...could be really awesome and down right scary in the right environment.
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000

Yeah, acesover, Joe and I talked about how this might be a useful gambit for folks who say stuff like "Don't make my wallet disappear!" The proper response would be "Why would I take your wallet when I can take your soul!"

At the Death Emporium we usuall discuss our first embalming. I even wrote a poem about it. My first real trick was coin out of the cadaver's butt. It was the same as the coin out the cadaver's ear but as children we were not allowed to do tricks below the waist.

I just watch the video and like the ending. I know of a person here that has this very idea worked into one of his routines. He published it in one of his books and I have used the idea in a slightly different matter since then. It does create a moment on those watching. As I talk, the house lights lower and the effect is enhanced. This creates more of a WTF moment then a throw away gag.
Cool video. Ray |

Actually, the first magic trick my dad showed me was one called, "pull my finger." It was always a real gas when he did it.

Say, Magical Dimensions, I'm curious to know who published this idea and where. Author's name and book title would be much appreciated! Glad you like the video!
