In February 2015, Bob Dylan will be releasing an album of him singing Frank Sinatra material.

Yeah, that's pretty close. I thought there was going to be an announcement of the Republicans agreeing to work with Obama at the close of his administration. Now THAT would have had me looking for the Four Horsemen!

LOL, Ed. I'm guessing the opposite would be just as true.
However, since my post is about music, I was hoping to hear opinions from some of the music guys out there ... |

I'm not a music guy, but that dam near made me torpedo my shorts.
The ultimate 'Never-Sellout' doing Sinatra? And with that voice? I don't know which side of the fence to throw my sympathies!

I have no problem with it all. I'm anxious to hear it. Dylan has been crooning, and swingin' for a while and it might sound great (if you like Dylans voice, which I certainly do).
Go pop in "Love and Theft" and listen to songs like "Bye and Bye", "Moonlight" and "Summer Days". They are great songs. I'm looking forward to hearing the album. In early 2014 they released a Dylan cover of a song Sinatra (among others) had recorded called "Full Moon and Empty Arms". I'm sure it's on Youtube or somewhere else out there. |

When I was a kid I hated Frank Sinatra's music. But as I grew older I slowly began to love it. It began to make a lot more sense to me.
Dylan's grown a lot older, too. We both probably relate a lot more to lyrics like, "And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain..." So the thread title is strangely apropo. |

If he can get away with that Christmas album, Which I think he did admirably, then
he can do Sinatra. Who was well overrated.(IMHO)
What do we want?
A cure for tourettes! When do we want it? C*nt! |

I'm happy to change my mind, but so far I can't see that happening. I'm going to follow up on some of the above recommends. I never really liked either of them. One too scratchy, the other too bland.

Here's another example of a song popularized by Sinatra that I can completely relate to at this point in my life, but which I would have ignored when I was younger. I'd like to hear Dylan give it a shot.
