I have been performing a Ring & Rope routine on and off for a few years with a heavy brass ring about 5 inches in diameter (it's a monster!). I have become very accustomed to the weight and I like how impressive the ring feels to spectators when I hand it out for examination. Now the bad news, I lost it! I haven't performed the routine in awhile and I can't locate the ring anywhere in my house. Does anyone know of a source where I could get another large heavy brass ring like this?

Thanks!

Never seen or heard of a 5" Brass ring, only one I know of is a 3-3/4" Brass ring from Wizard Craft for $15.

Mike,

I get mine at Tractor Supply Company. They sell a variety of sizes that are seamless brass.

You can also get large ones at any good Tack Shop (Horse Stuff Store.

I got mine originally from a tack shop years ago, and that shop is now out of business. The tractor supply is a good idea, too. I'll keep searching.

Thanks!

Check out www.reefscuba.com. The biggest they carry is 3 inch or so, but they are very nice. (And not at all expensive)

That's a great price Hudson! Thanks for the link. I'm still holding out for a bigger diameter. Of course once I buy a new one my old one will turn up!

After trying lots of rings in different sizes and materials, I too settled on a 5" brass ring. Couldn't find one, so I had a local metal worker make one for me. I even asked him to flatten the sides a bit to make it easier to hold at the fingertips. Displays well without my fingers covering too much, and the weight is great. Cost me $65.

I have considered trying to find someone to make one for me. I have a friend that is pretty handy and has done some metal work in brass, so that may be my last ditch effort if I can't find one online. I'm still hoping the one lost in my house will magically appear!

John:

I've seen those rings in craft stores but they are very thin gauge. Too light and flimsy. Those are typically used for macrame and can almost be bent in the bare hands. The ring I had was a heavy duty harness ring.

Thanks!

I opted for 5/16" thickness as just right for my handling.

Mike,

I got some large ones here many years ago. You might give them a try. It is a very cool store outside of Salt Lake City.

A search of their site didn't bring one up, but definitely worth keeping an eye on them in case they add it to their inventory again.

Thanks!

Found a 3" on Rural Kings site. Maybe they can order bigger? http://www.ruralking.com/agriculture/liv......g-3.html
