Hi,
Some time ago I read someone's post about body loads and their preference for "working off the pack". I'm assuming this means structuring an entire card manipulation routine without any steals. I'd like some more information regarding these type of routines, as I'm interested in avoiding body steals all together for one of my acts. Thanks in advance, Kipling |

Kipling100,
The Jeff McBride tapes and DVD show this type of manipulation as well as Jeff Sheridan. What is ment is you place the cards back in the hand not producing a fan or card. So instead of dropping the cards in a hat or box, you put them in your other hand with a group you are holding. If you do throw them away, just reach into a pocket and remove a new deck. There is no trick per say if that is what you asking. Bill |

It really means that your acquiring a stock of cards and loading them into BP or other palms directly from the deack you are presenting or showing. There are numerous ways in which to retain cards in this manner and the McBride DVD's or tapes do touch base on this approach.

Kyle pretty much summed it up. Instead of stealing your loads from card clips, you are getting the cards from the deck. There is a variety of methods around, and I'm sure you could make up your own.

A good way to get into the stealing from the pack is by presenting a series of fans (s-fan, singles etc.) This gives you a reason for having the deck in your hand. The process of squaring up the cards after the fan, leads nicely into many stealing of the pack techniques.

There is the Japanese style of useing a deck over and over in the Tony Clark tape for the Jumbo Fan production. The tape sells alone for $15. I seen Kukuchi and Shamada use this method. It might also be on a Shamada tape from Steven's Magic.

I work entirely off the deck, although I am not the originator of the ideas and techniques I use.
My card manipulation routine runs 3 and a half minutes without a single body steal. |

So for those working off the deck, are you dropping cards, or feeding them back into your stock? I'm a little confused about that point.
Thanks |

Dropping them off, mostly. You can, if you want, put them back.

Basically, aim for producing and vanishing fans and singles with both hands and dropping them into the bucket throughout the routine.
