This was reviewed on this week wizard product show. It got worker of the week but I've got to say I wasn't very impressed with it.

So I got this a few weeks ago and I have to say I'm really impressed. Anyone who has read my past posts know I'm a fan of Jeff's work. So with In Your Wallet you'll be learning three tricks that you can pretty much carry on you at all times. You'll learn a trick with a credit card, with a stack of photos, and some gum. The one I like the most is "Charge Card" which is the trick using a credit card. You receive two credit cards with this trick, one that is ungaffed, and one that is gaffed. The basic idea behind this trick is using your credit card, your spectator chooses a card, which is then lost into pack. The spectator then uses the credit card to come up with a random number and counts down to that number in the deck to find their selected card. As a kicker, the credit card they were just holding now has the name of the selected card printed on it. This trick is great because it's both an ACAAN effect as well as a card reveal using a very natural prop. The gimmick is incredibly well made and was printed just like a real credit card. While that is the basic handling of the effect, the Charge card gimmick also has several reveals built into it, so its not a one trick wonder. It gets great reactions, specifically because of how well made the card is. It really is a credit card, so when the spectators are handling it, they never suspect the kicker ending. The next trick taught is "Ethan's List". If you went to Jeff's Penguin Live lecture he covered this trick. Jeff has a cool performance where he talks about a "burn book" and has a spectator choose a random picture. Simply by holding a lighter underneath the packet of photos, the spectators thought of photo is now burned. While I'm not a fan of the presentation Jeff uses, I love the method. Jeff actually covers some alternate ideas using this concept that I liked a lot better. Its a really great way to force something without needing a stack of cards. It feels organic, and is something I actually have started to use because of how the force works. The final trick is "Back in time 2.0" which is an updated handling of a trick from Jeff's first DVD "Gum". This handling is a huge improvement over the original, and the gimmick you learn to build is awesome. While this effect isn't one I would perform (I don't chew gum), the gimmick is something that again I've already begun to use with other effects. The DVD is well produced and I liked how the packaging was made to look like a wallet. The gimmicks are high quality, and like I said there is something from each section I would use. Deff pick it up if you can!

Just got it this week

Title: In Your Wallet
Creator: Jeff Prace
Publisher: Kozmo Magic
MSRP: $25
Skill Level: All
DVD Run time: aprox 35 min

Type of effect: Card Prediction/ Reveal

Manufacturer's Write Up:
You will learn three commercial, easy magic tricks with debit cards, photographs, and more. Each trick has been designed to comfortably fit into a standard wallet, ensuring you are always ready to perform. The DVD comes complete with custom-designed gimmicks. These gimmicks look like real debit cards, and they offer one of the most effective card revelations you will ever see.

How accurate is the ad copy?
Pretty accurate, I take a little issue with "These gimmicks look like real debit cards" as they will not hold up against close inspection, but they look "right" in presentation.

What's in the box?
1 DVD and 2 Credit Card "gaffs"

Key points:
Jeff gives you three, ready to go effects that you could easily carry in your wallet.

My thoughts:
Jeff has redesigned Mark Jenst's "MagicCard" and given it a few twists for a new age.

Is it well made:
Everything is well made and should last you a very long time. Even the DVD sleeve has cool production value.

Is it well taught:
Jeff does a clear job of walking through each effect and nuance. He's a little "static" in his presentation and I can't tell if he's reading a prompter or just being very careful to get every word right, either way he teaches what you need to know.

How are the production values:
Over all, they are moderate. The live performances are all done with the same group of people at the same location and the studio shots are done against a black backdrop.

Overall score: 7/10

David Oliver reviewed In Your Wallet in the March issue of Genii! Excerpt below:

"Jeff Prace has quickly become one of our newest rising stars in creativity. I have known and worked with this young squirt, Mr. Prace, since he was a preteen. However, he and I both know I have told him flat-out when his material is bad or needs improvement. I am brutally honest with him - borderline cruel at times. That being said, this is one of many of his effects that I enjoyed. This is magic you can carry with you at all times and not have to worry where you left your Invisible Deck, Linking Rings, or Zig-Zag. You are ready at a moment's notice to perform some truly mind-boggling magic. Recommended."
