I'm interested in any book on the topic of adding drama to magic. Also about writing theatrical shows?

Henning Nelms' "Magic and Showmanship" teaches his own preferred methods of creating drama, increasing the meaning of what we do, as well as practical lessons in dramatic structure and staging.

David Copperfield spoke very highly of Uta Hagen's book _Respect for Acting_.
You might also look into John Booth's _Forging Ahead in Magic_. I haven't read _Theatrical Magic_ by John Pyka, but the description at Denny and Lee Magic suggests that it might be a book worth taking a look at: http://dennymagic.com/store/theatrical-m......451.html Actually, if you truncate the link to Denny's shop to http://dennymagic.com/store/categories/t......aft.html you'll find a lot of suggestions for book on magic and stage craft. Some of the text books used in high school and college drama classes might be useful, too. ----- Sonny
