Hi there all
it has been many years since I have flown with my doves as I pretty much drive to all my shows across the country. so I have a few events on the west coast and will be flying instead of driving. question to those that have flown with doves in the past year or less! whats the ruling these days. of course I will check with each airline to see what there rules are just curious to any updates tips or what ever. my doves fly in a custom fitted cage that is fitted inside a small duffle bag. if I did not tell any one I had doves they would never know thanks sam

Your post concerns me. Doesn't your duffle bag contain air holes? If it is not shown as animals inside the carrier, the baggage attendants will just throw the bags and put them on the bottom of the stacked luggage. If carryon won't they scan and inspect the bag?

BIll what are you talking about.
this is not my first ride here. I have traveled by air with my doves in the past and had this cage/ bag set up made so that they can travel in the cabin safely. I am not hiding anything or keeping it from any one. but at the same time there is no need to draw attention that I have doves. of course I would check them in and pay the travel fee for them. nothing dishonest here. this is also the way "ice" travels with his birds as well as Dan sperris. although some times Dan borrows doves in the area which I am considering. i am merely asking for any updates or thoughts as I have not traveled with my doves via plane in over 10 years. all my national tours are done by driving to each state for my shows. i use the same bag cage for those shows as well so that no one at the school or theater even know I have doves. Dave- yup already sent a message on the Café to him. cant seem to find the email address I had for him. I have a new server and fear I have lost some data. thanks for the comments sam

Sam: what is your email? I will email you about this in the next few days...i'm currently on break from tour and taking a break from life in the process (currently writing this from Disneyworld) but once I fully return to reality and life in general I'll fill you in on what is the best way to do this -- coming from a guy who flies at least once a week with 10 doves and a cockatoo...

@ken
yes I have thought of borrowing doves but I doubt there are any dove magicians where I am heading but maybe. when I flew last time I just brought them with me and kind of just told each check point that the one before just told me to tell them I have doves and they are aware. never paid to travel with them. but seems as I was checking air line rules they now have info about birds and every single one says only 2 birds allowed. so curious as to what can be done.
