Hello everyone!

I was just thinking about putting together a little trailer that I could send out to potential clients that ask for one. However, I have been browsing through the forums and all over google but I can't find the answer. Do I have to pay a royalty for the music I would potentially put onto my promotional trailer (of myself). I don't know if this would go under commercial or non-commercial use. Technically that trailer isn't producing an income in itself but it is selling me to get clients to potentially create an income. I'm so confused.

Thanks!

Chris

I suggest you contact Arthur Stead. Check out his royalty-free music on his website: http://www.arthurstead.com/ He is also a member here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/bb_pr......er=15211

Check out the music he put together for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6tY2CZi4BM

Hi Chris,

Like my colleague Arthur Stead, I also compose and produce original, royalty-free music for magicians. My company (Prestige Studios) has an excellent reputation in the magic community, and our music is endorsed by top performers all over the world. Hope you'll stop by for a look and a listen!

Also there is a couple of websites that offer "royalty free music", do a search on the Café and you should find the web addresses. I never heard it called a trailer before, try promotional video or audition video. The hardest part is listening to thousands of music clips to find one that fits.

Thanks everyone!

Yes Bill, I agree. The hardest part is listening to the THOUSANDS of songs out there to try and fit your audition video.

Thank you for the references Mike and Steve. I'll be sure to check them out.

Cheers guys!

Opus 1 Productions is another good site: http://www.opus1productions.com We are currently using one of their tracks on the trailer for Mickey Rooney's final movie The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde and I had used their music in my shows and other projects for well over 10 years.
A direct from text adaptation : The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde Starring Mickey Rooney in his final role.
