Yay first post! I'm 12, and have been doing magic for about 6 years, so wouldnt consider myself a beginner, but didn't know where to post this. I do quite a lot of knacky moves and cardistry and have been practicing the scissor cut. The position seems really uncomfortable, I know I can probably do it with practice but it feels like it's is really stretching the muscles and didn't know if it was a good idea to do it and if it can be bad for your hands, stretching them like this. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

For now just practice. Your hands will grow into it and then you can start performing it. That's how I learned to do the coil roll and other sleights that were just impossible for me to do at the time. I practiced on the bus, under my desk in school, and every chance I got, but always just doing the moves out of sight, secretly. It was a great feeling when I was finally able to perform them in front of an audience. Of course, the real sleights no one ever gets to see (if you are any good) but YOU know you're doing them correctly by the amazed looks on their faces.

If that's you riding the unicycle in your avatar, then you have already mastered the art of the impossible. When you first tried to sit on a stick attached to a wheel, it seemed impossible. The beginning was filled with falling off a lot, but you got back up and tried this impossible thing again and again. Eventually your body took over and learned to do it by shutting down your brain that kept telling you how impossible it was. It will be the same thing with every difficult sleight of hand move you learn whether with coins, cards, ropes, silks or what have you. Train your body and shut off your brain. Have you learned to juggle yet? Wait until you discover that you can juggle and ride the unicycle at the same time! The one-handed scissor cut is nothing compared to that!
