Where are the best places to learn thimble manipulation? I tend to prefer books, but I would still be interested in DVDs as well.

Here are three recommendations that will keep you busy for a few years:
1. Jeff McBride's World Class Manipulation DVDs 1, 2 and 3. 2. The Complete Al Leech book published by Magic Inc. 3. Rosini's thimble routine in the Dai Vernon Book of Magic. |

I second what JNeal said. For smaller thimbles, Joe Mogar's book Digital Deceptions is really, really good.

Duke Stern wrote a thimble book he gave me when he worked at the Indianapolis Abbott's store in 1949. Don't know if the book is still around but someone might have.

I would recommend Tops Treasury of Thimble Magic. It's available as a $4 instant download from Abbott's website.

A question I ask regularly is what can be done to quiet nested thimbles. I would love to do Thimple Thimbles table hopping, but too loud. Any suggestions appreciated.

So use less thimbles. A simple routine is more surprising then a longer routine while strolling. Depending on the routine, consider using steals. |

I just remembered! In one of his books, Karrell Fox had a very fine thimble routine, It was short, funny and a real punch finish (8 thimbles).
I'll try to look up which book it's in. (Ha! another Charlie Miller!)
