Doc,
I perform on a surface that's 14 X 17 inches. I see your surface area is much larger. It appears that I may be able to do the routine but with more difficulty due to the close proximity of all that is involved. Is that a fair assessment?
I am getting so tired of slitting the throats of people who say that I am a violent psychopath.

I think that's a fair assessment BUT Im guessing it would be easy enough to adjust to this....you just need to be able to spread the cards....

Fair assessment.. but as Koz says.. it can work on a smaller pad. Focus on the pad.. and have the glass well off to your right... if their attention is directed to the pad...it is still possible to to make this work.. I have done it many times on smaller pads... 17 inches is a doable size.. I have done it using a smaller pad than 17" Remember if you 'get caught', don't worry about it.. you are learning valuable lessons. It simply tells you where the weak point is and spotlights when you have to turn up either physical or verbal misdirection.
Also remember that the other routines on the dvd are strong in their own right.. so even if you don't do this chapter and verse.. there is still plenty of usable material. You don't HAVE to do it as many times as I do...

Hi Guys!
I've just had the opportunity to watch this DVD set, and I can agree with the others, this is top notch stuff here! I've also been lucky enough to see Doc perform this material live and in person on many occasions, and I can say that without a doubt, that he's a true master, and watching Doc is always a FUN and AMAZING experience for everyone! You don't need me to tell you that Doc and his magic is an inspiration to countless magicians around the globe. His material is solid and time tested, the world over. There's so much incredible information contained within these DVDs, whether it's a magic effect, or other bits of information, it's something that should be considered by all, .....not to mention he's one heck of a nice guy too! I also like that the material is modular. So you can perform the whole routine, or just one or two little pieces if you choose to do so. It's versatile, so if you want, you can add it into something that your already doing. Of course, Doc's material is plenty strong enough to stand all on it's own, and I do believe that many will chose to perform it in it's entirety. This DVD set will easily appeal to many different skill levels and performing styles. You can't go wrong here, if you just get one thing from these DVDs, then it was easily worth TWICE the price!! Kozmo and his team did a GREAT job on producing this special set of DVDs, ....and BTW, he's another really nice guy!! I hope this helps!

Bob Sheets once told Doc Eason that you needed to perform a trick a thousand times before you could say it's yours. Unbelievably, Doc Eason has performed Card under Glass thirty thousand times. As a result, this set literally exudes a vast depth of experience.
Having just finished the first disk of this two-disk set, I am in awe at the unbelievable opportunity this provides to learn from a true master of the art of magic. To begin, just the tricks alone are worth the price of admission. Every detail is worked out, and the tricks are powerful. You couple this with a repeated (6 times) card under glass, and the effect is overwhelming. The second disk goes into other situations that may arise and moves and an interview, but I haven't gotten to that yet. Right now, I'm absorbed in disk 1. I remember a time when there were no videos. We don't realize how lucky we are to live in a time when we can bring great magicians and teachers, such as Doc Eason, into our living rooms to learn from. Even if you never do Card under Glass or any of the tricks Doc performs in his act, there is so much to learn from watching his performance of the tricks, the explanations, motivations, and construction of the tricks, his use of patter, etc. As I said, the depth of experience really comes through. I will use an expression I never use and say that, if you are a magician--beginner, somewhat or very experienced, amateur or pro--this set of DVDs is a no-brainer. If you don't already own it, it should be at the very top of your list. |
