This is exactly why we need the 2nd amendment.

So you can shoot drunk drivers?

Convenient edit there, Bob.

Let me finish it for you...

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away!

Yes, why wait for the police when we can just shoot through the door and kill the unfortunate person looking for directions?
Or maybe we'll show a little restraint and actually open the door before emptying our shotgun into the drunken woman pounding on the door.

Point is, we were discussing a possible drunken driver, (or in my case, a medical emergency) not a home break in or burglery that would make gun ownership appropriate.

What if the 911 system is run by idiots??????

Then it would never work. The fact that it works as well as it does is proof to me that the majority of the people working 911 systems (and they are indepenant) are NOT idiots. But there are always going to be some.

I had a similar situation years ago. I was the first on the scene of a traffic accident. There was a fatality. I got an incompetant 911 operator whose ineptitude cost us several minutes. Makes me wonder if the life could have been saved.

It depends, on if it is before or after a nuclear strike.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Oh, definately before. After the strike, the EMP will render all the phones useless.
