Tom.elderfield had been quite active till such time it was discovered that this trick already exists. Since this is a Murphy's Magic release, it is quite understandable as to why Tom.elderfield has gone mum.

Why should Tom go quiet because it's a Murphy's release? I don't understand, it still has his name attached.

Dick Christian wrote a post in the Genii Forum back in 2011 that he had purchased the rights from the Dennis Marks estate and he had started selling them.
http://forums.geniimagazine.com/viewtopic.php?t=35531 Unfortunately he passed away a few months later. Perhaps contacting his estate for permission could help fix the problem. |

Petrick and Mia had a similar trick which they performed at an Australian Convention in 1986.
It eventually appeared on an L&L tape: "Magic Eye Box - As he deals, the performer is able to divine any card the spectator stops him on. This ingenious method has many possibilities for the magician and mentalist alike. " Also, I doubt if anyone can claim exclusive rights. The idea of a secret glimpsing device is too generic. |

Tom sent me a review copy of this, here is my review - http://ireviewmagic.weebly.com/insight-b......eld.html
It is a really simple utility and the bottom line is - if you have a need for this system, it does what it claims to do.

Out of curiousity, based on this thread, I purchased both the Invisible Eye and Insight at about the same time to compare them for myself. They are essentially the same product although, due to its design, I think I prefer the Invisible Eye but both get the job done. Believe or not, I was actually able to find a vendor that had two original Invisible Eyes still on the shelf.

I also found several products on Amazon that would allow anyone with a pair of scissors or an Exacto knife to make their own similar devices.

The rights were purchased by Dick Christian (who recently passed) and were manufactured for him under license by Neil "Cards by Martin" Lester (who also recently passed). Even though both Dick nor Neil are no longer with us, I presume that Dick Christian's estate still owns the rights to "The Invisible Eye" and I am thrilled to learn that this item is still potentially available and still being sold. Was your purchase perhaps from ONS (Old New Stock) that was sitting on some dealer's shelf? Thanks for the info. Mike

From what I am gathering, you can use a borrowed deck, but you ALSO need your box on the table for this to work. I find that rather strange. It might work but honestly I don't have much use for a gimmicked peek as I have several no gimmick ways to do the same thing.

Anyone know where I can get more of the "gimmick" online?

I've searched around and the best I could find was via eBay and it's not as good as the original. It is enough to make at least 50 more for 1/4 the cost, but again, not as perfect. PM me if you'd like me to send a link.

Not sure of the lack of homework here but it appears as though Tom did not do his research before "creating " it. That said it would not be the first time two individuals came up with the same idea. In this case though Invisible Eye By Dennis Marks is a decade old.
