Learn ANY Stack By EAR!

Yep, it’s true. Even a blind performer can learn ANY stack. I did a search
here for “text-to-speech” and was unable to find anything. An on line
search produces tons of results.

I went for a free program called Natural Reader. A lovely female voice will
read aloud your stack data at your choice of speeds. I know there are some
“apps” out there for the modern smart phones. I don’t have one of those.

In a nutshell, here is a short description:

“Natural Reader is a professional text to speech program that converts any written text into spoken words. In other words, it allows you to listen to text instead of reading them on the screen”!

Here are the first few entries I use for the Aronson Stack.

1 Jack of Spades 1 Tea Spade
2 King of Clubs 2 Noah King
3 5 of Clubs 3 May CoaL
4 2 of Hearts 4 Ray HeN
5 9 of Spades 5 Law SaP
6 Ace of Spades 6 Jaw SaT
7 3 of Hearts 7 Key HaM
8 6 of Clubs 8 Fee CaSH
9 8 of Diamonds 9 Bay DaFFy
10 Ace of Clubs 10 ToeS CaT

Since I learned mnemonics 45 years ago, some of my pegs may be different
than yours. That doesn’t matter. Use any pegs of your own choice. Notice that
I included the stack number twice, before and after the actual name of the
card. I just like to hear it read that way.

I hope some will find this useful. It’s just another tool to help learn the stack.

By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.

If you're using mnemonics, this system for cards can help considerably:

Notice it's value first, then suit, the natural way you think of a card.

Geoff Williams explores that concept in depth in his new book.
I'll post a review in the near future.
