Hi,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Kobe Van Herwegen, professional magician from Belgium. For the least 15 years my father and me have been investigation the magic history of Belgium. Last year we’ve published a book about it and at the same time we had an exhibition for the Belgian public. Both with a lot of success. Wittus Witt even found the time to write an article about it. You can read an English article about in on following link: http://www.flanderstoday.eu/art/exhibiti......an-scene For the last 7 years we’ve been investigation the life of the wonderful Suzy Wandas. This summer, after Magic Live, I will travel further to Detroit Michigan to interview Peg Weikal and to investigate the original scrapbooks from Suzy Wandas. During the time that I’m there, I will also visit the museum of magic in the hope to find some interesting information about Suzy Wandas. Our goal is to write a book about her wonderful life. We’ve already found a publisher for it in Belgium and possible one in the U.S. So that the story of one of the greatest female magicians won’t be forgotten. I’m in contact with a lot of collectors, historians and institutes. But I’m still looking for extra information about Suzy Wandas. - Are there magicians in Detroit who have know her, so I can interview them during the time that i’m there. - Does anybody has a rare picture of her in his collection? - Does anybody has some new info about her? - Is there anybody who has a big collection about her that I don’t know about? - … Every info can help us to reconstruct her life in the best possible way. If you have something, please let me know. Thanks in advance, Kobe |

You probably already know about the DVD from The Miracle Factory, but just in case:
http://miraclefactory.net/zenstore/index......ts_id=24 A search of the name "Suzy Wandas" on askAlexander.com produced 19 pages of hits. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

Her name (and possibly her picture -- I don't recall) is featured on several posters glued to the ceiling in the Abbots Magic Factory in Colon, Michigan.

Thanks for the advice! I have de DVD from the Miracle factory, it gives a great impression of Suzy when she was older. Aksalexander.com was a great source of information and I can highly recommend it to anyone doing magic research.
It’s also correct that there are pictures of her against the wall of the Abbot Magic Factory, her posters are in the ceiling. It was Percy Abbot who first brought her to the U.S.A. And whit this info the discussion about the youtube video of ‘Starlit Days at the Lido’ starts again. Is or isn’t the lady in de movie Suzy Wandas? Whit al the info that I have so far, I have to say no. But I’m still investigating it. |

I knew Suzy back in the 1970's when I was a member of IBM Ring 22. A classy lady who was possibly the oldest magician at most meetings. She was always very polite even to us kids. I remember she did a performance during one of our annual public shows, which is when I realized how great she really was! If I remember she did mostly manipulation with cigarettes and silks. Beautiful lady and an elegant performance!

Peggy is the best source to talk with as she helped care for Suzy in her later years.
You might also contact Mr. Klosterman to see what he might have that you can see since you are going to be in the States and not that far away in Detroit. Richard
