We introduced this at KAX 2015 and was called a "Game Changer" by many who saw it. Great for expanding vent shows! The concept will be evident when you see it, and your brain will go bonkers with ideas. Let me know!

Steve:
What a brilliant concept (and execution)! I'm wondering if it will be customizable for non-Axtell puppets. (I'm a hard figure kind of a guy myself.) Bob |

Yes Customizing is the name of the game on this. Still in development. Patent Pending and equipment changes in the works. It has the potential to give a huge mountain of advantage to those who get it. We added another video of moving up and down as well as left right, in out, etc. Imagine putting on a scuba mask and stepping into an elevator and going down under the ocean for a bit, or going up stairs to another level of doors or a balcony.... http://www.axtell.com/lvs.html

Hey Steve,
Naturally I have seen this concept used in many stage shows and with rock bands both here in the States as well as in London. I always loved the concept and wondered if this is something that would ever be feasible and somewhat reasonably priced for the magic industry. At some point I'd love to hear more about a price, the size of the background screen, customization, etc. Also, I'm just assuming that this can only be performed in a theatrical setting, correct? Thanks, Gerry |

Steve,
I have another question for you. It really hit me after I sent my first post. If you didn't create the original technology, which I'm sure is patented, that made this whole concept possible, can you patent-pend something that is really based off someone elses creation? I guess that's really up to the patent pending office, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on that one. I don't know enough about the patent pending process to know if tweaks count like original creations. Thanks, Gerry |

One last thing. . .
I really don't know a whole lot about virtual sets, so it's entirely possible this technology can be used by anyone. I just want to be clear about my lack of understanding about virtual sets. Gerry |

Gerry all good questions, glad you like it. The projection technology exists in many forms and my "Live Virtual Sets" is a unique combination of the technology and stage elements that allows a small venue performer to set up and perform in a virtual environment with some new conceptual advances. Not just walking in the X Y horizontal axis but also in the Z axis walking back into a room as well as up and down as seen the the video below, and also combines the unique puppet character transitions from video background to reality foreground by it's walking or flying forward into the lower area. We have created some software tricks that allow you to control the show and ambience as well as the use of our foreground skirt element that blocks the view of your legs below the screen (thus blocking the view of the real immobile stage floor & creating the illusion of really being in the scene) and also providing the load / hide area for the props and puppets you pick up (which the audience cannot see staged in place below the screen in the foreground). Here's an experiment with going up and down, and playing with the scale of a character in a scene.
