Mr. Nardi,

Thank you very much. I sent you an email to the Alakazam email address. Just tried the lock. Works very smooth. Recommended for a good hands off lock.

Years ago I had a similar presentation of sending the combination to four different spectators in the audience in my after dinner show using Tom Yuratits "Psychokinetic Lock". I believe Tom later included my routine with his lock. The last digit was a well known psychological ploy involving the whole audience. Because of the last bit I could hardly use it close up. But I mention this because this new lock, which is different could be used in the same manner for a larger audience. You supposedly pick people you think will be good 'receivers'. These people can later be used in other experiments.

Of course another way of projecting numbers is a piece of card and a nw. Smile

Of course, I should add that for close up I liked Peter's dem with the safecracker theme Smile

The person with the lock in low lighting could be given a magnifier that lights up.

Got it and played with it. I agree with all that's been said before:
- Good quality, looks like a normal lock (although I would have preferred "made in China" on it, as "Argentina" looked suspect to some people. It is also too big and in full view when the spectator is manipulating the digits...
- The numbers are definitely not visible in low lighting, and even in normal light for some people.IMHO, the sharpie suggestion is not a workable solution if you try you'll understand.
- You will need good spectator's management. I suggest to have people check at the beginning of the routine that the lock is locked, but MAKE SURE THEY DO NOT CHANGE THE DIGITS. Hold on to the lock yourself by its body, when they pull the shuckle.
When the digits are turned to try a combination, make sure the lock is hold by the body, not by the shackle. If there is tension, the lock can accidently open BEFORE they finished the entire combination. It happened once to me... Do not use heavy chain for instance.
All this can make you nervous as soon as somebody touches the lock or wants to examine it. After all it's supposed to be hands off. Normal reactions are to rotate the discs. You can't prevent that and If they do it, there is a good chance that it will open by "mistake".
I think it could have been avoided by slightly changing the method ...

So like for every product, there are PROS and CONS. Overall it's a good product that I'll use but with good spectator's management.

I was able to inspect The Larry Lock this weekend and while it's a great device/method, I really have issue with the tiny numbers. They're VERY hard to see. I suspect an updated version of this device will become available in the future (hopefully) with larger numbers. Would be good to ditch the "Made In Argentina" line as well because... I mean, what is made in Argentina?!

I got this lock from a private Estate but it came without instructions. The former owner passed away and the seller has no idea how it works, and after playing a little bit with it, neither do I have a clue...I'm wondering if somebody around here could PM me and tell me how it works? I don't need routines or so, only the basic working. I will really appreciate if that could be done, of course if this is not against the rules of the Café. If it is, well, then I'll have a very expensive prop sitting in my drawer. Thanks in advance.

I just bought one here at Mindvention. There's nothing wrong with this lock. Who makes a big deal about where things are made? Who cares. These things are selling like hotcakes. No syrup.
