I was hesitant to get this, but am very happy I bit the bullet and ordered. This is not your usual Uncle Charlie card trick. It leads down that path, and expect a few groans, but sets up a super ending that will lift you to their favourite uncle status for sure LOL!

Is there a d..ck sw...h or r and s used at all ? Last question is the dealing down in the demo the best case scenario or is it always so clean ? Or are there several outs ie the next card etc etc ? Thanks for any help 😀

Due to that kicker of an ending I have just ordered it from WMS.
In the right setting this has the potential to be lethal ;-)

The WPR do a full demo which is very useful.
They'd obviously rehearsed it with the spectator they used or he's incredibly bright. My biggest issue is you need someone who can follow what could be quite vague instructions with no visual clues to help them. E.g " if you thought clubs or spades put this the right hand pile on the left or if you chose hearts or diamonds put the left hand pile on the right" Feels like a bit of a risk. |

The real fooler on this is the countdown at the end and the freedom of where you stop ?

On May 23, 2015, Ray Chelt I too thought this might be a problem when I started to perform the routine, but I do this for groups, not an individual... so they work together to make certain it happens correctly. I have had a few "slow folks", but I can hear the others helping them to understand. I can say with total honesty I have had it screw up once out of hundreds of performances... and that was my fault! I was having so much fun and making so many jokes with the audience that I forgot the card!!! I got the right number and color but not the right suit... still looked pretty cool as I asked what the card was first, then said they had found it's mate... which is pretty darn good considering there were no other cards! I don't suggest this as the normal presentation, but it still worked out just fine... it was totally my fault. I was having too much fun! Cheers, -shawn |

I have been doing this trick for many years. I saw it on a dvd about 8 years ago, it was called "Mind Reader. It is killer.
I presented it more as a mind reading effect. I would ask to hold my helpers hand and see if we can make a connection. I would then go into this effect. I used two pencil dots, one on each of the necessary corners. I would do all the bits and pieces of raising and removing cards etc. i would reveal the card in three pieces, color suit and number etc. and then state, "***, these cards aren't showing me a *** thing." And dribble cards onto the table face up for the maximum shocker ending. I had not thought about adding the kicker that Stephen Bargatze does with the only card being their thought of card. Either way, this is a KILLER trick. I had a lot of fun doing this for magicians, and their comments afterward were really interesting. I use different memory guides to remember red/Black and suits. i would say this is a GREAT effect to end your strolling set at any table. |

Have just watched the explanation...and I was grinning throughout.
I simply cannot wait to try this out once I've worked out a presentation/script that will suit me. This is absolutely brilliant. To be honest...even if - while your back is turned - they decide to screw with you, look at the cards and 'see' what they're not supposed to see...as long as they play through to the end (which would be down to your presentation skills), you've still got one hell of a trick on your hands. God this is good. |

$35 for this chestnut?

If you find the presentation too boring, I wouldn't let that discourage you. it's worth checking out as you can apply the same principles taught with different similar effects.
For example, I now do a hybrid of I Dream of Mindreading with Stephen's kicker ending that suits my style more and is shorter / less boring. Plus everything is examinable in the end- which is a big bonus. |

As always the posters on here knocking the trick and criticising it have not purchased it, probably don't know exactly how it is performed and most certainly have never actually performed it themselves - hey what's new guys? Knock yourselves out!
I received this today and I like it. I like it a lot! Steve also gives you an easier alternative final reveal which I think if performed correctly can be as equally powerful. This trick is for magicians who can perform, have the patter and have the confidence to deliver it. Those that can't and don't will just keep criticising it...

This is actually very good value for money considering what you get in the set and it's a good trick.
I'm not a fan of the drawn out presentation but I'm sure it can be speeded up a bit and made to work. The work that is required I feel could be improved and I'm sure those that have this will find a way or you can stick with the way shown. I like this and we are now sold out with no more available for a few weeks which is a shame.

I have watched the demos and understand the principles applied . As with many effects timing is critical , by that I mean knowing when to pull this effect
Out of the bag to perform it . For me if you are working for a group asking one person to think of a card is not using the mechanics of the effect to their best advantage . You could ask the first spectator to make a decision about the colour of an imaginary card . The rest of the group witnesses his silent decision . The second spectator now knowing the colour makes the suit choice and the final person the value .. More people are actively involved with the effect and if one person gets the procedure wrong the other two will be thinking of the right card Andrew |
