Just received my latest Flash Paper order. As it should, it came moist/wet. I understand it's best not to allow the paper to completely dry until ready for use. I also understand it's proper to use distilled water with a touch of bleach to keep it moist/wet. What I'm not sure about is the proper method to apply the water to the paper. I'm contemplating applying the water with a spritzer bottle. Placing the paper on a flat surface and evenly spritzing both sides of the paper. Then resealing them in plastic Ziploc baggies. Would appreciate any comments as to the proper procedure.

Honestly I have never heard of this bleach and water bit. I have been using flash paper for 20 years in thousands of shows.
what I do when I get my shipment is take out 4 sheets and reseal the original bag plus then I put that bag into a better zip lock bag. it stays plenty wet from its original package. the 4 sheets it enough to last me 3 weeks of shows usually. then I take out more when needed to let dry. i never found the need to RE WET the paper but curious what some one that knows more then me has to say on this. stay safe sam

Hmmmmm. I have let my paper completely dry out. Is that bad? What's the problem with that? (Is that dangerous, or will it just not burn as well?)

The Flash Paper is wet only because they would not ship combustible material unless it was positive that it would not explode or set the mail trucks on fire. That is the only reason it wet.
Magic dealers have to open the packages and let it dry out so they can sell it. Do not re-wet the paper or put chemicals like bleach on the flash paper. Open the bag and let it dry out on it own. The when totally dry, put in a metal container to store in a "dry" area. Re-wetting the paper will destroy the paper. Example: Go to the bathroom, take a piece of toilet paper and drop it in the commode. What will happen to the paper. It will dissolve. |

Thanks, Bill. Just so long as I'm not doing anything wrong by storing it dry. (I keep it in an airtight steel container, just to be safe!)

Hi Melies, I wouldn't store mine in a steel container in case there were sparks when I opened it.
