Stopping a show to yell at a photographer! "Who do you think you ARE?" Was her question. Rhetorical. Rude. I cannot round up a thimbleful of respect for a performer who acts like that.

It interferes with others enjoying the show and it's clearly announced not to do so. But jumping from that to calling somebody doufus for wearing a hat is rude on your part. How does it impact your dining experience if somebody across the room has a hat on?

Live production interrupted by an obnoxious actor getting mad at someone for taking a picture. That should be called out.

The American pronunciation of Paedophile, as Peddaphile.
How do the Americans here pronounce Paediatrician? Peddatrician? Just asking. Don't shoot the messenger.

What a surprise.
No attempt to answer the question. Just attack. Do the Americans say Peddiatrician or not?

We spell it pediatrician, but I think it is pronounced the same. Not positive as I have never herd anyone with a foreign accent say pediatrician.

You never know what you are going to see at a live show! I don't get to NYC often, but when I do I try to see many shows. I've also been impressed with how approachable most of the Broadway stars are, and they often take time to meet their fans after the performances. I don't think Lupone's rant had anything to do with not wanting her picture taken. And judging by their applause the audience seemed to appreciate her candor and were not upset that she stopped the show.

I did indeed misunderstand, and was generalising on observations I have made over many years with both artist's known to me, and the actions of others. It remains a fact that once many of them have used publicity up to the hilt, they then spurn that publicity, and their fans, when they've 'made it'. Example, I was with one very famous rock star when a fan approached him to say that he had all his records and could he have his autograph. He told the fan to "Fk-off. I'm talking to Bobby!" Believe me, I made my anger at this known to him ! Bobby Thomson. |

I was with Stephen King at a Portland restaurant, when a lady fan came up and gushed over him. He was disgusted. "I deal with this all the time! I'm trying to .f*cking EAT, .damn it! Go away!" I wanted to crawl under the table. We were with a group, and the silence was deafening!
When I was a Rock 'N Roll Radio Disc Jockey, I was MC at a Molly Hatchet concert in Bangor. I brought a female fan backstage to meet the group. She didn't have a backstage pass, and the group got indignant at me! Cussing and swearing, they threw us out. Needless to say, I was stunned! We NEVER played another Molly Hatchet song again! Doug |

Cool, trendy name abbreviations like ScarJo for Scarlet Johansson.
ARod, Brangelina, JLo, etc, ad infinitum. I think it all goes back to FloJo, come to think of it.
