I was rereading the Ganson Book, and I came across the mention of his father performing magic behind the bar in 1910. I have no doubt there were earlier bar magicians. Does anyone know of such performers.

Max Malini performed in bars. Someone who knows better than I may know if he was employed by the bars but as far as I know he would do this to promote his shows while traveling.
